Hey guys. Tyler here alongside Justin.
Today we’re gonna talk to you about our new 8″ GDP Portals. We’re seeing a growing trend in the South. You guys run 22-inch wheels, 40-inch tires, and go bigger all the time.
So we thought, “this is a perfect opportunity to bring our 8-inch portals out with 45 percent gear reductions.” I’m gonna pass it over to Justin, and he’s gonna explain why this 8-inch portal is so special.
[00:28] Some of the cool features we added: we got rid of the paper gasket and added an O-ring gasket. We standardized all the seals and now we seal on the input gear. So as soon as you open the box these portal boxes are sealed. You don’t seal on your axles anymore.
[00:48] Another cool thing is now on our mounting brackets, we offer an inch and half forward and rearward offset, which is going to gain you three inches overall on your wheelbase. It’s really gonna help you when you’re crawling in and out of mud holes, crossing ruts, and climbing hills. The longer wheelbase is always a plus. Another cool thing is we’ve made these boxes symmetrical. You can now run these boxes on any corner of your machine. The front left, the front right, the rear, it doesn’t matter. These boxes can mount up to any of the mounting plates and you’re good to go.
[01:20] Another cool thing we’re really proud of is our gears. You now have the option to purchase micro-polished gears for smoother and quieter running gears. We have increased the idler bearing size and we’ve also added an O-ring for the drain plugs instead of using NPT plugs.
Hopefully that helps explain a little bit why we say these portals are so special. We’re super excited to bring this product to the market bigger than ever. We’ve had this mounted up on a few different machines and wow, it makes every machine it’s mounted on a complete beast. We’re talking when you have a 22 inch wheel, a 40 inch tire, and 8″ GDP Portals stacked on one of our 10 inch lift kits, you have one monster machine.
