You’ve heard of Mothers’ Day, Fathers’ Day, and maybe even Grandparents’ Day. But are you familiar with National Gorgeous Grandma Day? This is an actual holiday, celebrated on July 23 every year, that recognizes all grandmothers across the country. It’s a great opportunity for friends, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to show the grannies in their life some extra love and appreciation.
Gorgeous Grandma Day was started in 1984 as a way to recognize the accomplishments of all grandmas and remind them that no matter how old they become, they’ll always be beautiful, both inside and out.
But we’d like to step in here and say that we don’t think it’s all about looks! Sure, our grandmas are beautiful, but they can also be total badasses. For some women, getting up there in years doesn’t mean they have to put the thrills on the back burner. And going for a spin in a side-by-side is a great way to chase those thrills, no matter what your age.
In addition to giving the older generation in our lives an outlet for thrill chasing, off-roading is a great bonding experience for families. From great-grandparents down to their grandkids, we think there’s no better way to squeeze in some quality time than to jump in the family’s UTV and hit the trails. Some families place emphasis on special holidays or long-observed traditions, and others (like ours) prefer to spend time cruising in the great outdoors.

These grandmas are proof that no matter what your birth certificate says, you’re never too old to cut loose and have some fun—especially if that means getting the chance to spend more time enjoying life with your loved ones.
