Sometimes life throws you curve balls that you’re not expecting. The worldwide pandemic we’re all dealing with at the moment is one of those times. Due to these unexpected circumstances, the SuperATV team has decided to switch gears a bit in response to what our community needs.
COVID-19 (commonly referred to as the Coronavirus) became a household name back in January, when the first case was diagnosed in the US. Since then, the threat of the virus has continued to grow. As of the time we’re writing this article—March 31, 2020—there have been 164,610 confirmed cases across the United States, with more than 2,300 US citizens losing their lives from this illness. When you consider the fact that there were only 70 confirmed cases at the beginning of this month, it’s apparent that this virus is spreading exponentially.
As a result of this rapidly-transmitting virus, daily life for most Americans is looking a little different these days. Businesses are closing, schools are out of session, and many states have issued strict stay-at-home orders for nonessential workers. Those employees who are considered essential, though, are still reporting to work as normal. This includes health care workers, grocery store employees, fast-food workers, janitors, and more.
More often than not, these essential jobs require workers to interact with the public (or with co-workers) on a regular basis. This doesn’t just put the employees themselves at risk—they’re also running the risk of catching harmful germs in public and bringing them back to more vulnerable family members. Because of this, companies all over the country are taking extra measures to ensure their employees’ health and safety while working on the front lines of this pandemic. That’s where SuperATV stepped in.
One change you may have noticed if you’ve ventured out to the grocery store or doctor’s office these past few weeks is the installation of clear, protective sneeze guards at most locations where employees and customers have regular face-to-face interaction. The sudden high demand for these barriers is what prompted SuperATV to make some changes in our production facility, jumping from windshields to protective shields.
SuperATV’s Clearly Safer Personal Shields are see-through sneeze guards that can be installed at various places of employment, providing a physical barrier between employees and the customers they interact with on a regular basis. This helps to protect both parties from harmful germs and viruses, like COVID-19.
And their helpfulness isn’t limited only to situations where customer interaction is the norm! Employees who have to work alongside one another, like on an assembly line, can stay protected by having these barriers placed between them. We designed these shields to suit any work environment. From grocery stores to reception areas to factory floors, nearly every place of employment can benefit from Clearly Safer Personal Shields.
We provide the mounting hardware required for three different configurations: freestanding, attached to a counter, or fixed to the edge of a surface. The freestanding option is easiest to set up—just attach the included legs and you’re good to go! If you don’t have the space to stand it up, you can also choose to attach it to a counter or fix it to the edge of a surface. For these two configurations, we made installing the hardware as easy as possible. If you’ve got a 10mm wrench, you can have the hardware on and your shield in place within minutes.
Clearly Safer Personal Shields aren’t just easy to set up—they’re also a breeze to move. If you need to move your barrier from one cash register to another, this can be done in a matter of minutes. It’s as simple as unscrewing the hardware and reapplying it in the new location, or (in the case of a freestanding shield) just picking it up and setting it down somewhere else.
Each shield has a pass-through cutout at the bottom, allowing for an easy exchange of cash, debit card, or documents, without the exchange of unnecessary harmful germs.
Here at SuperATV, we’re big fans of polycarbonate. This material has so many advantages over glass and acrylic, which is why we didn’t even think of making our Clearly Safer Personal Shields out of anything else. Why, you might ask?
|✔||Lightweight and easy to transport|
|✔||250 times stronger than glass and 25 times stronger than acrylic|
|✔||More flexible than other materials|
|✔||Highly resistant to chemicals and high temperatures|
As if that weren’t enough, we also coat both sides of these barriers with our proprietary XR Optic Hard Coating, making them resistant to scratches and abrasions. You’ll never have to worry about your shield collecting dings or scratches as a result of daily wear and tear, no matter how many hits they take. Our scratch-resistant hard coating also provides extra protection against chemicals and UV rays, so they won’t become discolored, even after extended time in direct sunlight.
Bottom line is, polycarbonate outperforms acrylic every time. If you’re looking for a protective sneeze guard that’s going to withstand years of use, our hard-coated polycarbonate is an investment you want to make—trust us.
Keeping your work area clean and sanitary has always been important, but never more than it is now. That’s why we made sure our Clearly Safer Personal Shields aren’t just durable, but easy to clean, too. As long as you have access to some Lysol and a microfiber cloth, you’ll be able to wipe down the shield dozens of times each day without causing any damage to the material or hard coating.
To start off, we’re offering these protective sneeze guards in two standard options: 27.6” width x 26” height, and 22.2” width x 30.5” height. In most situations, these dimensions offer more than enough coverage to both employees and customers.
However, we understand that not every work place is the same. That’s why we’re offering custom sizing, as well. For companies who require differently-sized shields, we invite them to give us a call at 855-743-3427 to discuss custom sizing. SuperATV is eager to design something perfectly suited to your individual needs.
As a company, SuperATV has always recognized the importance of helping others and investing in our community. In times as difficult, confusing, and scary as these, it’s more important than ever to step back and evaluate what we can do to help out. And with the engineering and windshield manufacturing resources that we have at hand, figuring out how we can help was kind of a no brainer.
We started by donating over thirty-five Clearly Safer Personal Shields to local businesses in our hometown of Madison, Indiana.
“These guards are a natural fit for us, and we have the ability to make thousands very quickly,” said Harold Hunt, founder and president of SuperATV. “We’re doing our part to ensure the safety of everyone that has to continue working in our community.”
And by extending the sale of our Clearly Safer Personal Shields to individuals and businesses all over the country, we’re hoping to play a role in protecting the health and well-being of individuals nationwide. And we don’t plan on stopping here! To its core, SuperATV is based on innovation, which is why we’re looking into ways that we can produce other forms of personal protective equipment to promote social distancing and curb virus transmission.
