Hey everybody, today I’m going to be showing you how to install a SuperATV 2.5″ Lift Kit on this CFMOTO ZForce 1000.
0:18
So let’s jump right in. The first thing we’re going to do is remove the front wheels. We’re just going to be doing one side at a time here today. Once we’ve got our wheels removed, we’re going to go ahead and disconnect our shock from our A-arm. Pick up on this A-arm here and remove our hardware. Then we’ll disconnect our shock from the frame as well. We’ll remove our nut and grab ahold of our shock and push up on it a little bit, remove our bolt, and now that the shock is removed, we’ll set it aside for the time being.
0:58
Heading on back to the rear, we’ll remove our rear wheels. Then we’ll disconnect our lower shock. Pick up on the A-arm and remove the bolt. Then come up to the top and remove the bolt. Pull the bolt out and remove the shock from the machine. Then we’ll take a measurement from the beginning of the springs to the end of the shock and write it down. This way, we can make sure we keep our rear shock separated from our front shock.
1:45
Now we’re going to head over to our spring compressor and get our new spring spacers installed into our shocks. There’s a few different ways that you can use to compress your springs. We’ve chosen to use our compressor today. What you do is flip the shock upside down so that it sits right here where you make your pre-load adjustments. We went ahead and tightened it down so it’s not moving. Then we’re going to lower our compressor down to where we can get our compressor arms onto each of the coils. If you have a safety latch, be sure to use that. Now we can compress our spring down. We’re going to do this until we can remove our retainer. Go ahead and pop the retainer off and then we can remove the springs. We just have to decompress it and pull our arms out, then remove the spring.
2:30
You’re going to have two spring spacers in your kit. The smaller one’s going to be for the front and the larger one’s going to be for the rear. We’ll do the front first. Take the front spacer so that the side with the cut out is facing upward toward the bottom of the shock and place it on the compressor. So once we have our spring installed, we’re going to raise our compressor all the way up to where we can get it onto the the coils of the spring. And then we’ll start compressing the spring down. We’ll compress it down until we can get our retainer reinstalled. Watch your hands so you don’t get pinched anywhere, but you want to push the actual shock. That way, it’ll go into place where it needs to be. Then we’ll start releasing the spring pressure. Once you have it all the way released, you’ll remove the spring compressor.
3:19
Now we’re going to do the same exact thing for the rear. Compress it down until you can get your retainer off. Remove your compressor arms. Take the taller spacer and slide it onto the compressor with the spring on top. Start compressing it until you can get your retainer back on. Then loosen the spring pressure and remove your spring compressor tool from it. Then you’ll remove your shock from the spring compressor, and then we’re going to head back into the shop and get them reinstalled onto the machine.
3:59
So now we’re back in the shop and we’ve got both our shocks. If you forget which one goes where, always remember that your longest one is going to be in the rear. So let’s go ahead and get the rear reinstalled.
4:13
Just slip it into the lower pocket on the A-arm first. Then we’ll get our bolt and lift our shock up and slide it through like that, and then put our nut on. Then we’ll grab our lower shock bolt and pick up on this lower A-arm and slide that back into place. Once we have it in place, we’ll tighten our hardware back up.
4:43
Now we’ll slide our front shock back up into the upper mount on the frame. Do the same thing for the lower. Get our A-arm lined up and get all the hardware tightened back up.
5:06
Then we’re going to repeat these steps for the opposite side and reinstall our wheels and tires. And there you have it. That’s how super quick and easy it is to install SuperATV’s 2.5″ Lift Kit on the CFMOTO ZForce 1000.
