What’s up guys? Today we’re going to show you how to install Super ATV’s bed extension on this Polaris Ranger 1000. So let’s get right to it.

Installing the Stoppers (0:30)

The first thing we’re going to do is install the stoppers. We’re going to use the short Allen-headed hardware with the non-flanged head Nylock nuts. Install them through the holes as shown. This part can be a bit tricky, so use a wrench to hold the nut in place while you thread the hardware through the stopper. Once started, fully tighten the hardware.

Installing the Side Panels (1:44)

Next, grab four M8 Allen-headed bolts, eight flat washers, and four Nylock nuts. Slide the driver’s side panel of the bed extension into the tabs on the frame. Insert the M8 hardware through the holes, making sure to use a washer on both the bolt head and the nut. Get the hardware started but do not fully tighten yet. Repeat these steps for the opposite side.

Installing the Bushings and Pins (4:12)

Now, take three bushings and install them into the designated holes on the side panels. For the bottom two sets of holes, use M6 by 16 hardware, and for the middle two sets, use M6 by 20 hardware. Slide the hardware through from the outside and start the nuts. For the pins, slide the hardware through the bushing and align it with the corresponding hole on the frame. Install the nuts and fully tighten.

Installing Rubber Washers (6:30)

Grab the rubber washers from the kit and slide them onto the pins. This will help to secure the pins in place.

Installing the Brackets (6:38)

Next, get the recessed Allen-headed hardware and the remaining bushings. Slide a bushing into the bracket and start a Nylock nut on the back side. Fully tighten the hardware as there is no adjustment needed here. Repeat these steps for the opposite side bracket.

Removing Factory Hardware (8:24)

Remove the factory hardware located on the machine. This will be necessary to install the new brackets.

Installing the Bracket to the Machine (8:47)

Using the factory hardware and the recessed Allen from the kit, line up the bracket with the pre-drilled holes on the machine. Start the bolts and fully tighten, beginning with the bottom bolt.

Installing the Bed Extension (10:30)

Now, it’s time to install the bed extension. Slide the pins through the outer and inner bushings to secure the extension. Ensure it fits snugly. You can rotate the bed extension to use it either as an extended bed or flip it inside the bed and close the tailgate. To switch between these positions, remove the top pins, flip the extension, and reinsert the pins.

Final Adjustments and Testing (14:44)

Once the bed extension is installed, fully tighten all the hardware. Adjust as needed to ensure everything is functioning properly. The bed extension should now be securely in place and easy to use. Once you’ve got all your hardware installed and your bed extension is functioning properly, that’s all there is to it to install Super ATV’s bed extension on this Polaris Ranger 1000.
