What’s up guys, Braden here with SuperATV. Today, I’m going to show you how to install SuperATV’s rear windshield on this Can-Am Maverick R, so let’s get right to it.
First, ensure that the rear windshield matches the dimensions of your Can-Am Maverick R. Carefully remove the protective film from both sides of the windshield to avoid scratches and ensure clear visibility.
Apply Bottom Seal: Start at the bottom edge of the windshield and apply the seal across the bottom. Make sure it fits snugly. Use your hand to press the seal firmly along the edge, ensuring it adheres well. Trim the seal to fit by marking and cutting it evenly to match the opposite side.
Apply Side Seals and Miter Cuts: Continue applying the seal up the sides of the windshield, ensuring it aligns properly with the edges. At the corners, make 45° miter cuts for a seamless fit. This step requires precision to ensure the seal lays flat and snug. If metal clips are present inside the seal, use a sharp blade to trim them out for a clean finish. This ensures the seal adheres properly without obstructions.
Final Seal Adjustments: Finish applying the seal around the entire windshield, making any necessary adjustments to ensure a tight fit. Inspect the seal for any gaps or misalignments and correct them to ensure a weather-tight seal.
Attach the brackets to the windshield using the provided M6 hardware and ceiling washers. Ensure that the bend of the windshield is facing up and the side with the small hole is positioned inside. Leave the hardware slightly loose for final adjustments during installation on the machine.
Locate the T30 Torx screws in the center and opposite sides of the machine. Use a T30 Torx screwdriver to remove these screws, preparing the machine for the windshield installation. Do on both sides.
Position and Secure Windshield: Carefully slide the windshield into position. It may require some pressure due to its tight fit. Insert the long M6 hardware through the bracket holes and snug them up. It is easier to do this one side at a time for proper alignment. Adjust the windshield and brackets as needed before fully tightening the hardware.
Attach Straps: Insert the straps through the notches in the roof. Ensure the Velcro portion is positioned correctly for secure fastening. Pull the straps tight and fasten them securely, making sure they hold the windshield firmly in place. Repeat the strap attachment process on the opposite side to ensure even tension and secure installation.
Go through all the hardware and ensure everything is fully tightened. Verify that the windshield is positioned correctly and securely. Inspect the windshield to make sure it is stable and there are no loose parts. Double-check that all components are securely installed, and the windshield is stable.
