What’s up guys? Today we’re going to be showing you how super quick and easy it is to install SuperATV’s Flip Down Windshield on this Polaris RZR Trail S. Let’s get right to it.
[00:19] The first thing you want to do is remove both of your windshield components out of the box. We’ll have the flip portion of the windshield, as well as the upper portion.
Before removing this protective film, it’s very important to test fit the windshield to the machine. Lay it down to ensure it fits the contours. The flip portion looks good. Now, we’ll take the upper portion. Lay it in the gap and make sure it lines up well. That’s going to fit good as well, so we can remove the protective film from both components.
[01:10] All right, we’ll lay our flip windshield down just like this. Make sure you have the curved portion on the upper potion of the windshield facing straight up. Then grab our bulb seals out of the kit. You’ll have a bunch of seals, but right now, we want the bulb. Make sure the bulb portion lays up on the cage. It should be like that.
We need to make sure we have it oriented correctly. This is the outside facing toward us. We want the bulb seal to go on the inside, so you’ll orient your windshield just like ours.
[01:50] Start our bulb seal. Once we get to the portion where our windshield is going to fold, we can cut off some excess. I like to have a little bit of room here, so you can flip it with ease. You won’t have to work around your bulb seal.
Yours should look like this.
We’ll pick up the bulb seal again and run it all the way around to this portion here. Once we get here, we’ll cut off our excess again.
[02:48] Take the last piece and run it from here all the way to here. Then we’ll cut off our excess.
[03:03] On the top, we’ll take our u-seal and install it all the way across. Once we get to this point, we’ll cut off the excess. It should look like this.
[03:25] Next, we’ll grab our gasket. Apply it through here on the upper portion of our windshield. Then once we get here, we’ll cut off the excess.
[03:46] After that, we’ll grab both brackets from the hardware kit, as well as two spacers. Go ahead and remove the T40 Torx completely. Then slide the hardware into our bracket, slide on the spacer, and reinstall the hardware.
Do the exact same thing on the other side.
[04:35] For the next step we’ll grab our hardware—slide the ceiling washer onto the Allen headed bolt. Take the upper portion of the windshield and slide the hardware through the hole. Grab the spacer included in the kit slide it onto the thread of the bolt.
Lay the upper windshield onto the machine and start the Nyloc nut on the backside. Repeat the same steps on the opposite side.
Finally, fully tighten all of the hardware for both sides.
[05:52] Grab our d-seal and apply it across this upper lip of the windshield. Once we get here, go ahead and cut off our excess.
[06:32] At this point, we’ll grab the flip windshield. Lay it into position where it fits on the contours of the hood nicely.
[06:46] Take our heavy-duty Velcro straps, slide the strap through, and pull it tight just like that. Repeat the same steps for the other sides.
This is the windshield in the full position, so it’s flipped up.
[07:28] If you’d like to flip it down, just remove the top strap on both sides. Flip the windshield down and run your strap through the bracket that we installed previously. Then pull it down tight.
Do the same thing on the opposite side.
