What’s up guys? Are you looking for a full glass windshield with built-in vents and a wiper for your Polaris Ranger 1000? Well SuperATV has you covered, and today we’re going to show you how to get one installed.
[00:19] First, remove all the contents from your packaging and arrange them on a workbench. In the kit, you have a big spool of seal. We have our pieces pre-cut, but you won’t. Take the seal and apply it from this edge all the way across to this edge. Roll the seal out, and once you have this portion here, cut off the excess.
Take a piece and run it from this edge all the way to this edge. It’s the same process. Push on it to get it fully secured. When you get it here, cut off the excess. Do the same thing for this upper portion and for the side.
[01:23] Now grab the wiper handle and remove the 10 mm nut off one side. You have some regular and rubber washers. The washer will go against the nut and the rubber washer will go against the glass windshield frame. On the bottom side, slide the rubber washer on and then the steel washer. Then install the nut.
I like to get two 17 mm wrenches and snug these up. Don’t over tighten them. Now grab the wiper arm and remove the plastic cap. Flip the wiper arm like that and slide the handle through. Line it up on the wiper arm and run the 10 mm nut up all the way. Then tighten that nut.
Now we get get the wiper blade. Remove the cover here. Slide the blade on until it clicks. Give it a couple tugs to make sure it’s secure. Then you can flip the wiper onto the glass windshield. Slide the plastic cap back into position. Now your wiper is good to go.
[03:10] Next, grab the vent. It’s chilly outside so we’ll close ours. Just put these thumb screws on here and tighten them down. Set it in one position. If you want to change position you just loosen the thumb screws and open it or close it. Once you’ve done that, repeat the same steps for the opposite side.
Now find these four brackets, the allen headed hardware, the short allen headed hardware with a smaller thread, and some sealing washers. Put all the sealing washers on the hardware.
Now we’ll start mounting our brackets to these holes on the windshield. There are four of them—two on either side. Take the allen headed hardware with the sealing washer and slide it through the hole.
The bracket has two different sized holes. It has a small side for this hardware here and a big side for the thicker allen headed hardware in the kit. This will only go on one way. Put it on then put your flat washer and nyloc nut on. Don’t fully tighten these yet. Repeat the same steps for all the brackets.
Now grab the cage clamps. Attach them to the cage loosely so that we can adjust them later. Just wrap them around the cage making sure that the threaded portion is facing towards that way.
[05:40] Next, get the windshield and lay it up onto the machine. It’ll fit right down into the channel on the bottom and the channel on the cage. Grab the short, thicker allen headed hardware with a lock washer out of the kit. Attach the bracket to this threaded hole right here on the cage clamp. Mine’s loose, and that’s what you want because you’ll be able to put some force on this to get it to squeeze down enough to get hardware started. Just get a couple threads started.
You can wrap you clamp back around the cage and hold it in position. Fully tighten it and repeat the same steps for the rest of the three clamps. Once you’ve fully tightened all your hardware and made sure everything is fitting well, that’s all there is to it to install SuperATV’s Full Glass Windshield on this Polaris Ranger XP 1000.
