What’s up guys? Are you looking for a full glass windshield with a wiper and vent? Well, SuperATV’s got you covered. And today, we’re going to show you how to get one installed on this Polaris RZR 900.
First, remove all the contents of your packaging. We have bulb seals, wiper, clamps, foam seal, and obviously our windshield laid out. After you lay it all out, take your windshield and lay it up on your machine to make sure it’s going to fit.
[00:37] We already checked, so we’re going to get both of our bulb seals out of the packaging. You have two different kinds of seals. You have a straight, which is this one. And then you have a 90 degree one, which is this one right here. Take the straight bulb seal and apply it to the lower portion of the windshield, which is the side that has the vents and all the contours to fit your hood.
Run the seal all the way across the portion of your lower windshield. I’m just going to run our bulb seal all the way out to this edge here. Then we’ll cut off our excess. I’m going to go back through to make sure we get it fully seated all the way across.
Ours is good to go, so now we’re going to grab our foam seal. We’re going to start right here. Run it all the way along the edge of the windshield frame down to right here, then we can just pull on it. We’ll tear it right off just like that. We’ll do the same thing over here on the other side.
[01:57] Then, while we’re right here, we can go ahead and talk about our vent. So our vent is going to go on just like this. So when you rotate it one way, it blocks the holes. We’re going to set this in the closed position for right now. We’ll get our thumb screws and screw them down. Tighten them up and pull the windshield back just a little bit here.
[02:21] Grab two of the clamps. Remove the nut off the clamp and remove the hardware out of the clamp. Then pull your grommet out. Inside the grommet you’re going to have a little sleeve. I just like to take my screw and push on it so I can get it out. Feed it right into this hole and reinstall the sleeve.
While we’re here, I’m going to take my hardware, slide it in from the outside coming in. Take the clamp and flatten it out just like this. Lay it on the screw and start the nut. And we’re going to leave that hanging. That’s just going to make it so much easier if you’re installing this by yourself. If you have somebody to help, you don’t have to do that. But I still recommend to do it. It just makes it faster rather than trying to unclamp these and bend them around while they’re on the machine. It’s so easy just to have them all the way stretched out. That way you can wrap it right around the cage and fasten them down.
We’re going to do this same step for this other hole here down on the bottom. Just like that. Put the nut on.
[03:45] The bottom portion of the windshield’s ready to go. We’re going to flip this thing around and get our bulb seal installed on the top. Obviously you only have one other bulb seal left in your kit. Install that so that the seal is facing in. That way it makes contact with the cage.
We’ll start right here on the edge right on the corner of our foam seal. Just go through and make sure that you get this seal fully seated all the way across the board. Once we have it run up to this point right here, we’ll cut off our excess.
While we’re here we’ll install our two clamps just like we did on the bottom side of the windshield. Nothing changes. It should look just like this right here.
[05:10] One last thing we need to do before we get our windshield installed is get our wiper installed. So you have your wiper handle here and a 10 mm nut. You just want to remove that. remove this piece, your washers, and remove everything else except one washer. Slide one of your rubber washers on. Come over here in the windshield. Just slide it up. Put your rubber washer down, then your flat washer. Take your nut and start it back through. We’re just going to snug these up with two 17 mm wrenches.
Right there we got them good and snug. So now we’ll grab our wiper arm here and there’ll be a little plastic cover. Just peel it out of there. Then you’ll grab your spring here. Flip it just like this, and then slide the handle straight through. I’ll flip it up here so you can see what we’re doing.
Then we’ll take our wiper arm and get it lined up on the splines. Just like that. Go ahead and thread on the nut. Take your wiper and, as you can hear, it’s snapped into place. We can remove our cover for our blade and let it lay down like that.
Take the windshield and lay it just like this. Grab a 10 mm wrench. Hold onto the wiper and snug this down. Take the cover that you previously removed and and reinstall it.
[07:19] So now our windshield is ready to be installed to our machine. Make sure you pull your clamps to the outside. It should be like this. This clamp needs to go outside here like that. Flip this one to the outside. Slide it up as far as you can get it. You’ll take your nut off of one of your screws here. Wrap the clamp around and line it up on the screw. Then get your nut started. We’re just starting all of it right now. We’re not fully tightening anything.
Take this one and wrap it around the same as before. Repeat the same steps over here on this side. Just take your nuts off and wrap your clamp around. Once we have all of our clamps started, I like to make sure the windshield’s all the way up as high as it can go. It’s making a good seal on the hood as well as up here on the corner where it goes up to the visor.
It’s looking pretty good right there to me, so I’m going to go through and fully tighten all the hardware. You can use an impact, but just be careful not to overtighten them. You could also just use a ratchet. Down here you’re probably going to have to use a wrench and a phillips head screwdriver. I like to get them snugged up to where they’re going to hold tight on the the cage. You don’t want to overtighten them because it’ll want tot push the rubber out in the grommet.
Once you have all your hardware tightened up, and your windshield’s looking good and fitting good, that’s all there is to it to install SuperATV’s Full Glass Windshield on this Polaris RZR 900.
