[0:00] What’s up, guys? Are you looking for a glass windshield that you can use a windshield wiper on, that also has a vent? Well SuperATV has you covered! Today we’re going to show you how to install it on this Polaris RZR XP Turbo. Let’s get right to it!
We’ve already removed all of the protective film and everything from our windshield. We’re ready to install the components. We’ll start by grabbing the lower vent. As you can see, it slides from side to side. In the kit you’ll have two twist knobs. Those will thread right onto the studs here.
Once we have that, we’ll grab our seal here and apply it to this edge. Go ahead and peel it and start it right on the edge. We’ll have a little bit of excess here, so you can cut it, or what I like to do is put my thumb there to hold it and then you can just tear it off. That works just as easily.
[1:03] We’ll do the same thing over here on this side. Then, you’ll notice that you have two different kinds of seals in your kit. This is the straight bulb seal and it will go along the lower portion of the windshield here. I’ll start right here on this corner and work the bulb seal onto the frame. Make sure it’s fully seating all the way across here.
Once we get to this point right here, we’ll cut off our excess.
[2:16] Now we’ve applied our seal. We want to take this one, which is our 90-degree bulb, and apply it to the upper portion of the windshield, facing toward the machine. We’ll start right here on the edge and start working this seal all the way around the top.
Once you get to this point right here, go ahead and cut off the excess.
Then we can go ahead and install our wiper.
We’re going to lay our glass windshield off to the side and remove our cap. It goes right here. We’ll flip this straight up and grab the handle for our wiper. Remove the nut off of one side, then remove the rubber seal and the washer.
[3:29] We’re going to slide this through, just like this. Put the rubber seal down in the washer, and then our nut. Then we want to get our wiper in a good position. Once it’s lined up, we’ll put our nut on just like this.
We’ll have a little bit of movement up and down, which is perfectly acceptable. Just make sure everything is snugged up. Then I like to install my washer just to see how it’s going to look. Make sure it’s in the right position.
That’s going to be perfect. That’s exactly what we’re looking for. So now we’ll go ahead and fully tighten the hardware for our wiper as well as our lever.
[4:21] Let’s hold onto our lever down here and tighten this up. We’ve got it good and tight there. Then we’ll grab two 17 mm wrenches and tighten these nuts down.
Once that’s good and tight, we can pull the cover off of our wiper. Then we’ll put our cover back on—it goes on there just like that, so that’ll work out great.
Next we’ll take the clamps provided in the kit and remove the nuts off of them. Remove the washer and then remove this piece right here, your grommet. We’ll take each of our grommets and install them to the four holes around the windshield. Get them in there and then take the metal sleeve. Line that up.
[5:52] Now we’re ready to slide our windshield into place and slide it all the way up onto the cage the best we can, just like that. Then we’ll grab our clamps and line it up with the hole. Then we’ll take a screw, slide it through, and line the clamp up. Go ahead and start your nut, but we’re not going to fully tighten anything just yet.
Those are just hand started. We’ll go through with the rest of our clamps and start them all as well. You just want to make sure that before you tighten anything down, the windshield is slid up as high as you can get it and that it makes a good seal.
[7:23] Now that we’ve started all of our hardware, we’re going to make sure we’ve got good contact everywhere with our windshield. I’ll get my Phillips screwdriver out here, my 10 mm on a ratchet. A lot of times you can thread them onto a certain point with the screwdriver. Get it kind of close and fully tighten it.
Once all of your clamps are installed and your windshield is where you want it, go through and fully tighten all of your hardware. Then you have a windshield that’s ready for the elements! You have a windshield wiper too. You can use Rain-X on this. You’ve got a vent down here for those hot days. It’s just an all-around awesome product and awesome windshield.
