What’s up guys, Braden here with Super ATV. Today we’re going to be installing Super ATV’s poly upper doors on this Can-Am Maverick X3 Max, so let’s get right to it.

Installing the Clamps [0:08-1:26]

Grab your clamps and attach them to the B-pillar on the cage. You will need to slide one clamp around the pillar as shown in the video. Make sure each clamp is positioned correctly to facilitate the installation of the middle panel later. Continue by sliding additional clamps into position. Adjust the clamps to make sure they align properly, ensuring that when it comes time to secure the middle panel, everything is positioned for an easy fit. To make the final installation easier, pre-form the clamps to align them. This will help you pull the clamps together more easily when securing the hardware.

Removing Door Bolts and Installing Middle Panel [1:26-2:40]

Remove the two bolts securing the door to the frame. If the clip is broken, use the extra hardware provided. This is common on these installations, and having extra hardware helps ensure a smooth process. Position the middle panel and use the factory hardware to thread in the bolts at the bottom. This helps to stabilize the middle panel and hold it in place while you prepare to secure it with clamps and additional hardware.

Securing the Middle Panel with Hardware [2:40-3:00]

Grab the M6x 35 mm bolts, lock washers, flat washers, and M6 Nylock nuts. Insert the bolts through the middle panel and align them with the clamps. Start the nuts on the backside to secure the panel. Ensure all bolts are aligned correctly before tightening.

Installing Large and Small Brackets [3:00-4:50]

Identify the large and small brackets. The large brackets are for the top tubes, while the small brackets are for the inside tubes. Position the large brackets on the top tubes and the small brackets on the inside tubes as shown. Start threading the hardware into the brackets. Begin with the large clamps, securing them loosely to allow for adjustments. This step ensures that the brackets are correctly positioned and aligned. Lay the small clamps in position, ensuring they are ready to be secured with the middle panel. Position the brackets and align them with the clamps, then start the bolts to hold everything in place. Once the hardware is started, snug the bolts but do not fully tighten them yet. This allows for minor adjustments to be made as you continue with the installation.

Installing the Rear Door [4:50-6:00]

Take the rear door and slide it into position. Apply force to align the threads. Start with one screw as a pivot point, then continue aligning and inserting the rest of the screws. Use the M8 Allen head bolts with lock washers to secure the door. Snug the bolts but do not fully tighten them yet. This helps in maintaining the door’s position while allowing for adjustments.

Installing the Rear Filler Panel [6:00-7:56]

Remove the hardware securing the rear door hinge. Slide the rear filler panel behind the cage lip and align it with the holes. Use the factory hardware to secure the filler panel. Ensure the filler panel is snug but not fully tightened. This will allow you to make any necessary adjustments later. Position the rear door hinge and door, securing them with the factory hardware to ensure a proper fit.

Attaching the Rear Bracket [7:56-8:50]

Grab the spacer, M6x 25 mm Allen bolt, flat washer, and M6 Nylock nut. Slide the spacer over the bolt and insert it through the rear bracket. Secure with the Nylock nut but do not fully tighten yet. Position the rear bracket and ensure it aligns with the rear filler panel. The spacer helps maintain the correct distance and alignment, ensuring a secure fit.

Installing the Front Door [8:50-10:19]

Slide three small clamps onto the upper portion of the front door frame. Position the front door bracket and align it with the clamps. Ensure the clamps are positioned correctly to secure the door. Install a large clamp at the bottom of the front door frame. Secure the front door to the brackets using M8 Allen head bolts with lock washers and flat washers. Start the bolts and snug them but do not fully tighten.

Final Adjustments and Alignment [10:19-11:07]

With all sections installed, make the necessary adjustments to ensure a proper fit. Check for gaps and misalignments, adjusting the clamps and brackets as needed. Snug the hardware to hold the components in place while you make adjustments. Ensure that all parts are aligned correctly and that the doors open and close smoothly. Once everything is properly aligned, fully tighten all the hardware. This secures the installation and ensures that everything is properly fastened and stable.

Installing Exterior Door Handles [11:07-18:22]

Print the instructions and templates for the door handles from the Super ATV website. Cut and fold the templates as directed. Align the templates with the body lines on the doors and tape them in place. Use a center punch to mark the holes through the template. Drill the marked holes and remove the template. Insert the exterior door handles using the provided hardware and ensure they are properly secured. If your machine already has exterior door handles, this section will show you how to install them on any doors that don’t. Follow the template instructions precisely for accurate installation. After drilling the holes, insert the handles and secure them with the provided hardware. Make sure the handles are snug but not overly tight to prevent damage.

Installing Door Handle Mechanism [18:22-19:56]

Cut the rubber cover for the door handle cable and slide it over the cable. Attach the cable to the door handle, ensuring it is properly seated in the track. Reinstall the door handle and secure it with the provided hardware. Ensure the cable is snug and properly connected to the handle mechanism. Test the handle to make sure it operates smoothly. Double-check the alignment and tension of the cable. Make any necessary adjustments to ensure the handle functions correctly.

Installing and Adjusting Left Handle [19:56-20:50]

Install the left handle to the door using M5x 20 mm Allen head screws and M5 nuts. Fully tighten the hardware with a 3 mm Allen wrench. Attach the left bracket to the stock latch with M5x 10 mm screws and M5 Nylock nuts. Check the door handle for proper operation. Adjust the cable and handle as needed to ensure smooth operation.

Installing Left Cover and Final Adjustments [20:50-21:15]

Install the left cover using M4 by 12 mm screws. Ensure all hardware is fully tightened and the cover is securely in place. Perform a final check of all components, ensuring everything is properly aligned and secured. Make any last adjustments needed for a perfect fit.

Final Steps [21:15-End]

Alright, we’ve got our doors adjusted and everything looking how it needs to look on our side. Now, we’re going to fully tighten all of our hardware and repeat the same steps for the opposite side. It’s easier with a friend to help hold hardware when tightening it or adjusting the doors. The exterior door handle installation follows the same concept for all doors. Be sure to print the instructions and follow the templates accurately. That’s all there is to it to install Super ATV’s full upper cab doors on this Can-Am Maverick X3 Max.
