What’s up guys? Today we’re going to show you how to install Super ATV’s Hood Rack Charlie on this Polaris Ranger 1000. So, let’s get right to it.
First things first, make sure you have your OEM Polaris bumper installed on your machine; otherwise, you won’t be able to complete this install.
Grab the front portion of the hood rack and place it on top of the factory holes in the bumper. Take four M8 bolts with flat washers and two threaded plates. Slide the threaded plate in and line the holes up. Start your hardware by threading the bolts into the plate. Repeat the same process for the opposite side. Once all the hardware is in place, fully tighten the bolts.
Next, remove the four factory cage bolts—two on the passenger side and two on the driver’s side. Be careful not to lose the nuts as they can fall into the dash. Hold them in place with your finger as you pull them out and set them aside.
Grab the passenger side bracket and the provided hardware. Slide the bolt through the bracket and spacer, then line it up with the factory holes. Insert the hardware through the spacer and into the factory position. Start the nut on both the top and bottom bolts, making sure the hardware is properly aligned. Once both nuts are started, fully tighten the hardware.
Next, install the hood rack to the front mount. It’s helpful to have someone assist you with this step. Lift the hood rack into position and install the pins on the front portion of the mount.
Take the long hardware, flat washer, and Nylock nut. Line the bracket up with the mount, slide the bolt through, and secure it with the washer and Nylock nut. Fully tighten all the hardware.
Repeat the same steps for the opposite side to ensure the hood rack is securely installed.
To flip your hood rack up, remove the pins on both sides and flip the rack up to gain access to your hood. To close it, flip the hood rack back down, reinstall the pins, and you’re good to go.
