What’s up guys, today we’re going to be showing you how to install Super ATV’s soft cab upper door on this Polaris RZR XP1000. Let’s get right to it!

Cleaning the Cage [0:30]

To begin, we need to thoroughly clean all the surfaces where the cab upper door will be installed. This includes all along the cage, down through the sides, and the top of the door. Use denatured rubbing alcohol, which is essentially rubbing alcohol mixed with water. Spray the surfaces generously and let it sit for a moment. Then, go through and scrub the plastic well to remove any dirt and mud stains. It’s essential to get these surfaces as clean as possible to ensure proper adhesion of the hook and loop fastener later on. Once you’ve cleaned it once, go back and clean it again to ensure all surfaces are spotless. This step is crucial for a strong, long-lasting installation.

Applying Hook and Loop Fastener [1:49]

Now, we will apply the hook and loop fastener to the cleaned surfaces. Start by peeling the backing from the fastener and placing it above the weld on the cage. Run the velcro all the way back to a specific point, then cut off the excess. Ensure any piece of hook and loop that sticks up is trimmed to fit snugly, preventing mud, dirt, and debris from getting underneath and causing it to lift prematurely. Make sure the hook and loop fastener is firmly seated and free of bubbles. Rub out any bubbles to ensure it adheres properly. This will provide a strong foundation for attaching the cab enclosure. Proper placement and adhesion of the hook and loop fastener are vital for the enclosure’s stability.

Fitting the Cab Enclosure [4:57]

Next, take the passenger side cab closure door and lay it up on the cage. This initial fitment will help you understand how it needs to align. Tack the cab enclosure onto the hook and loop fastener that you just installed, ensuring it fits well. After tacking it up, you can see how the soft cab will lay when fully installed. Add additional hook and loop fastener along the cage, starting about two inches from the weld. Work it up the cage and make relief cuts where necessary to fit snugly around the contours of the cage. This ensures a tight and secure fit for the cab enclosure. Proper alignment during this step will help prevent future adjustments and ensure a snug fit.

Marking Holes for Snaps [11:45]

With the cab enclosure loosely in place, it’s time to mark the locations for the snaps. Use a paint marker to mark where each snap will be placed. Start with the snap closest to the edge of the door, ensuring it lines up perfectly. This is crucial because if this snap doesn’t align correctly, the rest of the cab enclosure will not fit tightly. Once marked, drill holes through the paint marks. After drilling, install the snaps by threading them through the drilled holes and securing them with flat washers and nyloc nuts. This process ensures the enclosure will be securely fastened to the machine. Accurate marking and drilling are essential for a secure and neat installation.

Installing the Snaps [12:47]

Begin by installing the first snap and ensuring it lines up correctly with the cab enclosure. Once this initial snap is secure, repeat the process for all the snaps along the top of the door and the rear filler panel. Mark, drill, and install each snap, securing them with washers and nuts. After all snaps are in place, go back and fully tighten them using a drill with a Phillips head and a socket. This ensures that the snaps are secure and the cab enclosure fits tightly. The goal is to have a secure and wrinkle-free fit that will provide excellent protection from the elements. Properly installed snaps are key to the enclosure’s functionality and durability.

Final Adjustments and Strap Installation [16:41]

With the snaps in place, mark the front snaps by stretching the cab enclosure and firmly pressing it after marking. Install self-tapping snaps into the marked holes. Once the front snaps are installed, adjust the enclosure to remove any wrinkles. Peel back and reattach as necessary to get a tight fit. Next, attach all the straps to the cage. Wrap them around and secure them tightly. This provides additional security and ensures the enclosure remains tight and secure. The straps help to maintain the enclosure’s position, preventing it from shifting or loosening during use. This final adjustment step is crucial for the overall appearance and functionality of the cab enclosure.

Using and Storing the Cab Enclosure [20:56]

To enter and exit the machine, unzip the enclosure and remove it from the door. On hot days or when the enclosure is not needed, roll it up and stow it away in the designated area. To do this, pull the enclosure tight, roll it up, and secure it out of the way. When you need to reinstall it, unroll the enclosure, zip it back up, and attach it to the snaps. Ensure the enclosure is fitting well with no excessive wrinkles or loose areas. This flexibility allows you to adapt to changing weather conditions while maintaining the protection and comfort of the cab enclosure. Properly stowing and reattaching the enclosure ensures it remains in good condition for future use.

Conclusion [21:22]

After completing the installation on the passenger side, repeat all the same steps on the driver’s side. Once both sides are done, your Polaris RZR XP1000 will be equipped with Super ATV’s soft cab upper doors, providing excellent protection from the elements.
