Are you looking to eliminate dust swirl, or just keep the elements out of the back of your Honda Talon 1000? Well, SuperATV’s got the fix with our rear windshield, and today we’re going to show you how to get one installed. So let’s get to it.
First, get your windshield out of the box from SuperATV. Lay it up next to the machine to make sure it’s going to fit properly, then go ahead and remove the protective film from both sides. We’ve already done this.
[00:33] Remove the bulb seal from the box. Make sure you apply the bulb portion of the seal facing towards the machine so that the bulb will be making contact with the cage all the way around when it’s installed.
We’ll start right here at this point. Then we’ll install it all the way around to this point here. Then cut off the excess.
If you have a factory roof, you’ll need to remove the rearmost bolt securing it through the cage of the machine. Make sure you get the windshield slid all the way up against the cage of the machine. It should sit there for you.
[01:35] While it’s sitting there, grab your three brackets. You should have two lower brackets and one upper bracket. You should have all of your hardware, too. You’ll have sealing washers that you want to position with the seal facing away from the head, and the hardware will go in through the back.
Take the bracket and sit it on the roll cage like this. Put the bolt through and grab your nut. You don’t want to tighten any of the hardware just yet. You just want to make sure t get everything installed first. Then’ you’ll repeat the same steps for the opposite bracket.
To install the upper bracket it, take it and reach into the inside. The small tab right here is going to line up with the threaded hole with the bolt that we previously removed. Get that installed and then grab the same hardware you used on the lower brackets. Make sure the sealing washer is going up against the windshield. Line it up and get the nut started on both bolts.
Now go through and tighten all the hardware.
[03:12] Next, grab the heavy-duty velcro straps. Wrap it around the cage and slide it through the hole here, and then feed it right back into the strap. When you have a little bit of the strap coming through, feed it through the hole with the clamp, firmly press on it, then secure it on the backside. Then repeat the same steps for the opposite side.
And there you have it. That’s how super quick and easy it is to install SuperATV’s rear windshield on this Honda Talon 1000. For more information on this rear windshield or any of SuperATV’s great products, feel free to give us a call at 855-743-3427 or check us out online at SuperATV.com.
