Are you running an aftermarket cage or just looking for a little bit more headroom on your Polaris General? Well, SuperATV has the fix with our Seat Lowering Bases, and today, we’re going to show you how to get them installed.
First, go inside the machine and remove your seats. This machine we’re using is brand new, so we still have some plastic on it that you won’t have.
Take your seat out and find a spot to work on it. We’re putting ours back here in the bed of the machine. Take a t27 and remove all four of these screws securing the plastic base. Then, take the adjuster and pull it over to the side, and you can lift the base right off.
Then it’ll look just like this. Now we’re on the bench and we have all our components laid out. If you’re working on the driver’s side like we are, make sure your bracket is oriented like this so that the flat section is going toward the right. This will be the driver’s side bracket. This side right here will be the passenger side. It’ll install just like this right here.
Slide you hardware through with one of the plastic washers on the head of the allen headed screw. Then we’re going to place one right here. We’ll want to set them up so that they both go together. Otherwise it can be a little bit of a pin to do.
Now line them up so it’ll be just like this. It’ll go to this hole and that hole. Then grab the nylock nuts from the kit and get them started. You can see how it functions.
Now get a 3/16 allen and a 13 mm wrench. Snug these up but don’t fully tighten them. Don’t over tighten them. So we have our seat base set up and you can see that it moves freely. You have a spring in your kit. It loops around this one side, then you can take a phillips head screwdriver to get it wrapped around the other end. Now when you let off the mechanism, it’ll spring back in to latch your seat.
Next, take the base and lay it on the seat. Set it up just like this. Hit the adjuster to get it slid into place. Then grab the rest of the hardware. There are four base spacers that will lay right here above the threaded nuts on the seat. Then put on the lock washer, and then the allen headed screw. Then repeat these same steps for the rest of the three screws.
There’s also a seal in the kit. Apply this seal starting right here all the way to about here. Then you’ll do it here as well. I usually don’t go past the bolt. It’s just here to stop rattling.
Now we’re ready to get our seat installed. Take it and get it into position like that. Make sure it locks in completely, and there you have it.
That’s how super quick and easy it is to install SuperATV’s Seat Lowering Bases or any of SuperATV’s great products, feel free to give us a call at 855-743-3427, or check us out online at SuperATV.com. Thanks for watching and we’ll catch you next time.

Hey Gerald. Thanks for reaching out! Are your seats aftermarket using the OEM base?
