What’s up guys, Braden here with Super ATV, and today we’re going to be showing you how to install our soft cabin closure on this Can-Am Maverick X3 Max. So let’s get right to it.
The first thing you’re going to do, if you have a roof installed, is to lift it up out of the way. We have a Super ATV roof installed, so we have foam on our cage. Remove the foam pieces from the cage where necessary to attach the hook and loop fastener for the soft cabin closure. This will involve pulling off pieces of foam to ensure there are spots where the fasteners can be securely attached. In this particular case, you might see that we have some hook and loop fasteners already in place from when we designed the soft cab enclosure, which helps in securing the enclosure properly.
Clean the surface using 90% rubbing alcohol. Ensure there’s no dirt or contamination on the plastic or any of the locations where you’ll be applying the hook and loop fastener. Clean the area two or three times to ensure it’s as clean as possible.
Grab your enclosure and lay it up on the machine. Use the straps to attach it to the cage, adjusting the position as needed. This is a good time to have someone help you. Fasten the rear strap to keep the enclosure in place while you work on the rest. This initial setup helps to hold the enclosure in place, making it easier to make the necessary adjustments and ensure everything lines up correctly. Adjust the straps so the enclosure fits snugly around the machine’s frame.
Work your way around the enclosure, feeding and tightening the straps to hold everything in place. Make necessary adjustments to align the enclosure correctly. This step ensures that the enclosure is positioned correctly before applying the hook and loop fasteners. By securing the straps, you create a stable base, preventing the enclosure from shifting while you work on securing it further.
Grab your hook and loop fastener and cut pieces to fit the necessary spots. Peel the backing off and apply it to the cleaned surface. Ensure to leave some foam to prevent the roof from rattling. Attach the enclosure using the hook and loop fastener. This step involves measuring and cutting the fastener to fit specific sections, then carefully applying it to the machine. Ensure the fastener is firmly attached and adjust the enclosure as needed to ensure a snug fit.
There are two ways to fasten your soft cabin closure: using the provided snaps or the hook and loop fastener. If using snaps, pull down the enclosure, mark the spot, and screw the snap into the door. For hook and loop fastener, cut the necessary length, peel the backing, and apply it to the door. This section provides an alternative method for securing the enclosure. The snap fasteners offer a more permanent solution, while the hook and loop fastener provide flexibility and ease of adjustment.
Ensure the window is tight and not flapping in the wind. Apply hook and loop fastener wherever needed or use the snaps. Adjust the cabin closure correctly and attach the zipper loops to all zippers. Repeat the same steps for the opposite side. This step is about fine-tuning the installation to ensure everything is secure and functional. By attaching the zipper loops, you make it easier to open and close the enclosure, adding convenience to the installation. Double-check all fasteners and make any final adjustments to ensure a perfect fit.
Once you’ve adjusted and secured everything, that’s all there is to it to install Super ATV’s soft cabin closure on this Can-Am Maverick X3 Max.
