[00:00] Introduction

Have you ever blown a tire and found yourself stranded on the trail? Don’t let that happen again. SuperATV’s heavy-duty spare tire carrier for the CFMOTO ZForce 950 offers a rugged and reliable solution for carrying a full-size spare tire on your rig. In today’s video, we’ll walk you through how to install it yourself.

[00:34] Meet the Installer and Tools Required

What’s up, guys? I’m Braden Adams, and this is my garage. Today, we’re installing the SuperATV ZForce 950 spare tire carrier. Before we begin, be sure to gather the necessary tools, including:

  • 4mm Allen wrench
  • 10mm wrench
  • 8mm Allen socket
  • Provided drill bit (included in the kit)

[00:52] Step 1: Remove Rear Windshield Clamp Hardware (If Installed)

If you have a SuperATV rear windshield installed, start by removing the lower clamp hardware. Use a 4mm Allen and a 10mm wrench to remove the screws. Then, take off the lower clamps. This allows clearance for the spare tire carrier mounting brackets.

[01:09] Step 2: Remove Rear Cage Bolts

Using an 8mm Allen socket, remove the two cage bolts located near the lower rear section of the roll cage. These bolts will be reused later to secure the lower mounting brackets for the spare tire carrier.

[01:25] Step 3: Install Lower Mounting Brackets

Next, identify the left and right lower brackets. Place each bracket onto the cage where you just removed the bolts, making sure the mounting holes line up. If you have a windshield, align the bracket hole with the windshield bolt hole. The upward bend of the bracket should face the top of the machine.

Insert the M10x50 Allen-headed bolts through the brackets and add the provided spacers. Reuse the OEM cage nuts to secure everything, gently threading the nuts into the cage channel. At this point, you can also reinstall the rear windshield bolt through the bracket if applicable, leaving it slightly loose for adjustment.

[02:42] Step 4: Install Lower Support Tube

Grab the lower support tube and the supplied M12 bolt with a hex head. Line it up with the hole on the lower bracket and thread the bolt into the tube by hand. This provides the foundational support for the upper portion of the tire carrier.

[02:56] Step 5: Drill Mounting Holes for the Spare Tire Carrier

Use the provided drill bit to enlarge the existing hole in the roll cage. Locate the pre-drilled hole on the upright section of the cage tubing and carefully enlarge it to fit the new mounting hardware. This will allow the spare tire carrier to bolt securely into place.

Repeat these steps on the opposite side.

[03:22] Step 6: Mount the Spare Tire Carrier to the Cage

Now, grab the main spare tire carrier and the M10 hardware provided in the kit. Align the mounting holes on the carrier with the holes you drilled in the cage. Slide the bolts through, thread the nuts onto the back side, and let the carrier hang for now. This will allow easier alignment for the top connection.

[03:44] Step 7: Connect the Spare Tire Carrier to the Lower Tub

Next, grab the tube clamp. Remove the hardware and separate the clamp into two halves. Fit one half above and one half below the area where the spare tire carrier tube overlaps the lower support tube. This clamp bridges the connection and locks the carrier into position.

Once aligned, reinstall the hardware and snug it down. Repeat the same steps on the opposite side to ensure symmetry and support.

[04:28] Step 8: Final Tightening

After everything is loosely assembled and aligned, go back through and fully tighten all hardware:

  • Lower mounting bracket bolts
  • Rear windshield bolt (if installed)
  • Spare tire carrier-to-cage bolts
  • Tube clamp bolts

Ensure everything is secure and torqued to spec before mounting your spare tire.

[04:34] Conclusion

That’s all there is to it! You’ve successfully installed the SuperATV spare tire carrier on your CFMOTO ZForce 950. This setup ensures you’ll never be left stranded on the trail without a spare.
