What’s up guys, Braden here with Super ATV. Today I’m going to be showing you how to install Super ATV’s sport accessory bar on this Polaris General XP 1000, so let’s get right to it.
In this section, we will begin by gathering all the necessary tools and parts required for the installation. The first step involves installing the linkins. We need to attach one on each side of the accessory bar, as well as on the cross member. This setup will provide the foundational support for the accessory bar.
Now, we move on to preparing the bed of the machine. Start by dumping the bed. At the front of the bed, where it contacts the cab, locate the quarter-turn screw. Carefully remove this screw. Once the screw is out, pick up and remove the panel at the front of the bed and set it aside for now. This step ensures that we have enough space to work on the installation of the accessory bar.
Next, it’s time to install the spacers and the threaded plate. Begin by dropping a spacer in the rear and another one in the hole located at the front. With the spacers in place, grab the threaded plate and slide it between the bedside. Feed the plate in such a way that you can reach your hand down and get a good hold of it. Proceed by grabbing the mounting bracket with the bolt already inserted. Align it with the front hole and drop the hardware in. Start the hardware loosely to allow some adjustment flexibility later. This setup will temporarily hold the sport accessory bar in place, making it easier to proceed with the installation.
Next, take the long bolts provided in the kit. Reach down inside and align these bolts with the previously installed threaded plate. Start threading the bolts into the plate, ensuring they are securely in place but still loose enough for final adjustments.
With one side done, move to the opposite side of the bed and repeat the same steps. This involves installing the spacers, feeding in the threaded plate, and starting the hardware. Make sure everything is aligned correctly, and the bolts are loosely secured. This symmetry ensures that the accessory bar is balanced and properly supported.
After aligning and starting the hardware on the opposite side, proceed to tighten it slightly. This preliminary tightening will hold the accessory bar in place while allowing for any necessary adjustments before final tightening.
Now, we move on to installing the crossbar. Position the crossbar and slide it up, ensuring it is aligned with its clamp. Secure the clamp and make sure everything is in place. This crossbar provides additional stability and support for the accessory bar, enhancing its functionality and durability. Double-check the alignment and secure the crossbar firmly. Proper installation of the crossbar is crucial for the overall stability of the accessory bar setup.
Once the crossbar is securely in place, it’s time to reassemble the bed. Reinstall the bedside panels that were removed earlier. Ensure they are properly aligned and securely fastened. This reassembly restores the original structure of the bed while incorporating the newly installed accessory bar. With the panels reinstalled, fold the bed back down to its original position. Check for any misalignments or loose components and make necessary adjustments.
At this stage, make any final adjustments to the accessory bar to ensure it is in the desired position. There is some flexibility here, so get it positioned perfectly. Once satisfied with the placement, go ahead and tighten all the hardware. Ensure everything is securely fastened to prevent any movement or instability during use.
Adjust the heads of the screws so they face up for easier access and tightening. Secure them firmly to complete the installation.
