[0:00] Are you looking for a full Tinted Roof for your Can-Am Commander MAX? SuperATV has you covered! Today we’re going to show you just how easy installation is by installing one here in the field. Let’s get right to it.
First, we’ll get in our packaging and remove the front and rear portions of the roof. Lay them on the machine to confirm fitment, and then remove the protective film. We’ve already done this so now we’ll move on to the next step.
[0:46] Grab the foam from the kit and start applying it to the cage. I peeled the backing off. Now we’ll apply it all the way across this back section and then around the rest of the cage, like so.
After that, cut off the excess where needed.
Next, grab the clamps from the kit. We’re going to disassemble them. Remove the nut, then the washer and grommet. Taking the screw, pull the sleeve through the grommet.
[1:33] Now set everything aside except for the grommet. Slide the grommet into the hole on the rear portion of the roof. Once it’s in there, I like to spin it a little bit just to make sure it properly seals.
Next, put the washer back on the screw. Slide the clamp underneath the seal. You’ll want to peel it up a little bit, right in line with the grommet. Line it up with the hole.
Once our clamp is in place, reinstall the sleeve into the grommet.
[2:19] Drop our screw through and line it up with the clamp. Then we’ll pull our clamp together and put the screw through both sides of the clamp.
After that, install the nut on the threads. Don’t fully tighten it yet—we’re going to leave it loose. Then repeat the exact same steps for the opposite side clamp.
Next, grab the front portion of the roof. It’s flipped upside down. We’re going to take our seal from the kit and apply it all the way to this edge. Run it down to the opposite side. Just make sure you don’t cover any of the holes.
[3:02] Once you get to this corner, cut or tear off the excess.
Next, we’ll grab all of our hardware and secure the roof to the machine. Grab our M6 screw and make sure to apply the sealing washer with the rubber side going toward the roof.
Line these holes up, then go through and start all of the hardware.
Grab another sealing washer and make sure the rubber is facing up, toward the roof. Apply it just like this, but don’t tighten any of the hardware yet.
Once you’ve done this, repeat the same exact steps for the rest of the hardware that secures the two roof portions together.
[3:54] In this pocket, you’ll see a hole. Take your spacer and lay it right over the hole, then slide your hardware through the roof and the hole. Be sure to use the shorter hardware in the front. Take one of your nuts and washers. Slide the washer onto the hardware and then start the nut.
Again, don’t fully tighten anything yet.
Now we have our longer hardware. Slide it through the spacer and into the roof. Again, take your washer and your nut and start them. We’re not fully tightening anything until all of our hardware is installed.
[4:42] Now we can go ahead and fully tighten all of the hardware.
Repeat the same step on the opposite side. Be sure to use the shorter hardware in the front and the longer hardware in the rear.
Once you’ve fully tightened everything, that’s all there is to it! That’s how to install SuperATV’s Tinted Roof on this Commander MAX. Be sure to check us out online to pick up your roof today. We’ll catch you on the next one!

Will this fit my 2016 commander max?
Hey Carl, unfortunately that roof won’t fit on your Commander. It’s designed to fit the new-style 2021+ Commander models. We don’t have a roof for older Commanders at the moment. Sorry about that.
