What’s up guys? Are you looking for a heavy-duty, USA-built aluminum roof for your Honda Talon 1000X-4? Well, SuperATV has you covered, and today we’re going to show you how to get one installed. So, let’s get right to it.
[00:38] First, you’ll remove your factory roof if your machine’s equipped with one. Once that’s done, get in the box and remove your foam gasket.
Now, peel the backing off of the foam, and apply it onto the cage.
[00:57] Next, we’ll grab our brackets. We’ll have a front, middle, and rear bracket—all with a M8 screw. We’ll install and orient them like so.
When installing your hardware, use the short screws on the holes that line up with the brackets. In your hardware kit, you’ll see a couple of different M8 screw sizes. You’ll have longer screws and shorter ones.
[01:24] Use the shorter screws for the three brackets that’ll be bolted down to the cage’s center. Everything else will use the longer screws.
Now, we’ll install all three of our brackets with the short screws. Then we’ll show you how to get your long ones installed.
[01:41] Next, you’ll lay the roof’s rear portion on the machine. And then you’ll grab the seal and apply it all the way across. Get it to here and tear it off.
[02:11] After that, we’ll take the roof’s front portion and lay it on top of the rear portion and bolt them together.
Once the front portion is laid up here, you’ll take the M6 Allens from the kit and couple the two roofs together.
[02:31] Install the ceiling washers to the head of the screw and slide it through the roof hole. Next, you’ll install another ceiling washer with the seal portion facing up on the bottom side of the same screw.
There’ll be four remaining holes in your roof that are circular unlike the rest. You’ll install the M8 hardware with one M8 flat washer.
[02:59] First, you’ll take the grommet and install it to the roof like that. Then, you’ll slide the M8 hardware and M8 flat washer through the grommet. After that, you’ll take another M8 flat washer and a rubber washer oriented like this and slide it on the bottom side. Finally, tighten all of the hardware down.
Once you’ve fully tightened everything, that’s all there is to it to install SuperATV’s Heavy-Duty Aluminum Roof on this Honda Talon 1000X-4. Check out our website to pick up your roof today. Also, drop a like, comment, and subscribe. Thank for watching, and we’ll catch you on the next one.
