Welcome to the Super ATV installation guide! Braden here, and today we’re going to be showing you how to install Super ATV’s aluminum roof on the Polaris RZR XP4. This step-by-step tutorial will help you upgrade your vehicle with ease. Let’s get right to it!
First, lay out all your components. You’ll notice two brackets with welds on one side. The side with the most weld is the top. Apply the adhesive foam on the opposite side of the weld. Peel the backing off and align the holes, installing the foam on both pieces. One bracket will have foam on the welded side, and the other on the opposite side. This preparation ensures that the brackets fit snugly and provide a secure base for the roof installation.
Now, with the inside of the roof facing up, grab your barrel screws. The side with the sealing washer goes up. Slide the barrel through the bracket, line it up, and start the screws. Do one on each side first to hold the bracket in place, then install the rest of the hardware. Repeat this for the other section of the roof. Ensuring that the brackets are properly installed and secured is crucial for the overall stability of the roof.
To couple the front and rear sections, grab the rubber seal and apply it along the edge. This seal prevents water and debris from entering between the roof sections. Cut off the excess once you reach the end. Lay the rear portion of the roof onto the front portion, ensuring the seal is on the bottom. Use the same barrel hardware to secure the sections together. This step ensures that the two sections of the roof are tightly joined, providing a seamless and weatherproof fit.
Grab your edge seal and start at one corner, applying it along the edge to the opposite side. Cut off any excess once you reach the end. This edge seal provides an additional layer of protection against the elements and ensures a clean, finished look for the roof.
Now, let’s walk through the bracket and clamp placement. There are four brackets that go in the locations where the cage bolts together. Remove the factory hardware, install the provided brackets using the cage bolts and nuts, and snug them up without fully tightening. These brackets provide extra support and stability for the roof.
Next, apply the seal starting from a little gap at the front, running down the length of the tube, stopping before the cage bolts together. Repeat this for both sides and apply a small piece in the center of the rear tube. Also, apply seal on the front center tube and the middle tube. This sealing process ensures that there are no gaps for water or debris to enter the cab.
For the clamps, install one at the front on both sides, one at the center tube between the front and rear seats, and one at the back on both sides. Snug the clamps but don’t fully tighten them yet. The clamps hold the roof in place and provide additional support.
Grab your roof and lay it on the cage. Use the spacer, long Allen-headed hardware, and Nylock nuts to secure the corners. Slide the spacer between the roof and cage, insert the hardware, and start the nut. Repeat for the opposite side. This step ensures that the roof is properly aligned and securely fastened to the vehicle’s frame.
Grab the remaining Allen-headed hardware and install it into the clamps, ensuring they’re just started and not fully tightened. This will allow you to manipulate the clamps to line up with the threads. Work around the brackets, dropping the hardware through and securing with M6 nuts on the inside. Start all the hardware before fully tightening. Ensuring all hardware is in place before final tightening allows for any necessary adjustments and ensures a snug fit.
Once all the hardware is started, fully tighten everything. That’s all there is to it to install Super ATV’s aluminum roof on the Polaris RZR XP4. Show how the clamps go on for goodness sake
