What’s up guys, Braden here with SuperATV. Today, we’re going to be showing you how to install SuperATV’s half windshield on this Polaris Expedition. One thing to keep in mind, this is going to work for the XPS as well as the ADVS, so let’s go ahead and get right to it.
Unbox the Components: First, take your components out of the boxes from SuperATV. Lay the windshield on the machine to confirm that it fits. Once confirmed, remove the protective film from both sides of the windshield. This step ensures a clean and proper fit during installation and prevents any scratches or debris from interfering with the process.
Apply the Bulb Seal: Now, install the bulb seal to the windshield. Ensure the bulb portion is facing away from the SuperATV logo, with the logo facing out away from the machine. This positioning is crucial for proper installation and functionality. You can install the seal by hand or use an air hammer, dead blow, or small hammer to get it on securely. Once the seal is in place, trim off any excess to ensure a neat and professional finish.
Prepare the Mounts: Grab the mounts and attach them to the windshield. You will need two M6 screws with sealing washers and two M6 Nylock nuts for each mount. Start on the right side (opposite the logo) and align the bracket with the long portion facing down and the short tab to the top. Insert the hardware and leave it slightly loose for adjustments. This flexibility allows for precise alignment when the windshield is mounted on the machine.
Remove Factory Bolts: Locate and remove the factory bolts on the machine where the windshield will be mounted. Insert the spacer provided in the kit into the hole. This spacer ensures a snug fit and proper alignment. Stage your M8 hardware with a flat washer to make the installation easier once the windshield is in place. Preparing these components ahead of time streamlines the installation process.
Mount the Windshield: Position the windshield on the machine. From the inside, insert the spacer and thread the M8 hardware into the factory threaded hole. Flex the windshield as needed to align it properly. Ensuring the windshield is positioned correctly is crucial for both functionality and aesthetics. Repeat this process on the opposite side to ensure the windshield is securely mounted and balanced.
Tighten All Hardware: Go around and tighten the small Allens that go through the windshield. Make any necessary adjustments to ensure the windshield is properly aligned and secured. Double-check all connections to ensure everything is tight and in place, providing stability and safety during use. Once you have fully tightened all the hardware and made any necessary adjustments, the installation is complete. That’s all there is to it to install SuperATV’s half windshield on this Polaris Expedition. Be sure to check the description below to pick yours up today.
