What’s up guys? Are you looking for more protection on the side of your Polaris RZR PRO XP? Well, SuperATV has you covered with our heavy duty nerf bars, and today we’re going to show you how to get them installed.
[00:34] First thing, If your machine came with the stock skid plate (it should have), remove all the hardware that runs down this frame. It’s very easy. We’ll put a diagram on the screen to show you which hardware to remove.
Ours is equipped with a heavy-duty SuperATV Full Skid Plate. We went ahead and removed the whole side panel to make it a lot easier. With it being this ARMW material, you can’t pry it down as well as you can the thin stock skid plate. Again, if you are running the stock skid plate, you don’t have to remove it completely. Instead, I recommend removing all your side hardware, prying it down, and lodging something in here to keep the skid plate down and out of your way, so you can get in there and work.
[01:22] You’re going to need to get your hardware. First, you’ll need two long spacers. You’ll have four in the kit, but just grab two. Then we’ll have three flat washers and three M10 hardware—one for each bolt.
Right off the bat, I like to start with this hole up here. This one is the trickiest to get a bolt into, because the floor panel is there. You’ve got to wedge this bolt in there sideways. We’ll show you how to get this bolt in. Take your flat washer and slide it up like this. After that, take your bolt, angle it through the flat washer, and slide it up into position. Then your bolt will be sitting in the hole. Next, we’re going to take our spacer, slide it onto the threads of the bolt, and slide it right in.
[02:23] Now, I’m going to grab the nerf bar and get it up here. We’ll get the hardware started with this one, because this is as far back as this bolt can go. It’s a little tricky if you put this one in last. Just get it lined up with the nerf bar and get it started.
[02:46] The next hole is right here. We grabbed a hold of the nerf bar and pulled it away from the machine. Slide it down a little bit, so we can slide our spacer in. Once we have our spacer in, we’ll grab a washer and a bolt. Slide them through like that. We’ll have our hardware started, and then we’ll get our nerf bar lined up. Go ahead and get it threaded in there.
Now, we need to open the door of the machine. We’ll reach back through here. Take the hardware and go through this factory hole where it lines up with the nerf bar.
[03:49] Now, we’re going to fully tighten all of our hardware. I’m going to start on the middle bolt. We’ll tighten the front with an open-ended wrench, making sure it’s nice and tight. Go inside and fully tighten it as well. Once you’ve fully tightened all the hardware, repeat the same exact steps for the opposite side.
