What’s up, guys? Today we will be installing our SuperATV Heavy-Duty Nerf Bars on this Polaris RZR Pro R 4 in 7 steps. You’ll have these nerf bars installed in no time—let’s get right to it.

1. Remove Your Skid Plate

So now we’re going to be removing our skid plate. We have the SuperATV Skid Plate installed on this machine so that we can remove just the sides. If you have an OEM, I recommend removing all the hardware on the outside—you can pull the skid plate down to access your bolt holes.

2. Install Small Hardware

So the first thing you’re going to do is go ahead and grab a bolt, a washer, and one of your sleeves. We’re going to set the sleeve aside for a moment. And we’re going to come to this front hole and were going to install our bolt in the hole. Now, what we’re going to make it easier to get this bolt through this hole. There’s a ridge-like rib right here in the plastic—we’re going to take a burr bit, and we’re just going to go ahead and remove that.

Now what we’re going to do is take our bolt. We’ll slide our washer up and put our bolt through the hole. As you can see, it went right through with no problem. So now we’re just going to take our sleeve and slide it onto our bolt.

We will need the following components: brackets, bolts, and our sleeve. When you slide the bolt onto the bracket, it should look something like this, with the head of the bolt making contact on this side of the bracket. The bent side will be laying over top of the frame rail, and then you would take this bolt, put your sleeve on it through the frame, and tighten it into your nerf bar.

3. Install Your Brackets

You’ll take the bolt and slide it into the hole with the head going in. Next, you will take this bracket, so it lays on the tube on the frame. This is what it should look like on the inside. It’s going to look like this bracket is going to be laid up on top of the frame with the bolt head coming through.

I’m going to show you on the outside here because it’s difficult to show you all underneath. This bracket would be sitting just like so with a bend on top of the frame rail but on the inside, so when you install it, it should look like this.

It’s difficult for you all to see. There’s not much room, but you can take it and take the bend on the bracket and wiggle it up on top of the frame and then turn the bracket until it lines up with the bolt head, and it should be like this.

Now we’re going to take our sleeve, and we’re going to slide it onto our bolt, and then we’re going to grab the front section of our nerf bard. Then we’ll go ahead and get it started onto our fasteners.

4. Install the Nerf Bars

So we’re just going to take our nerf bar and lay it up here, get it lined up with our threads, and get it started on the front. We’re going to run this hardware all the way up by hand to where the nerf bar sits.

Now we’re going to grab our bolt and our washer and put our washer on our bolt, slide the bolt through and put our sleeve on. Once you have your bolt through, you’ll grab the rear section of your nerf bar and just go ahead and get started on the hardware, but you want to keep it tight.

5. Remove Felt Pad From Seat

We’re going to lower our machine down. Now we’re going to get inside the machine and move the harnesses out of the way. You’ll need to reach directly behind the seat right here—pull the lever and lift the upper portion of your seat of the machine. And as you can see, there’s a felt pad right here, secured by push pins. We’ll just come in and remove the following push pins.Take the felt pad and set it aside. Now you will have access to your nerf bar hole.

6. Add Clamps to Nerf Bar

Once we have our hardware installed on our nerf bars, we will take our nerf bar clamps and slide them on. Once you have it lined up, go ahead and get your hardware started and close the clamp.
Now we’re going to go ahead and fully tighten our clamps. Once the clamps are tight, you’ll want to go through and tighten all four fasteners that secure the nerf bars to the machine.

7. Reinstall Felt Seat Panel

Once your nerf bars are installed on both sides and your hardware is fully tightened, reinstall your rear felt panel and skid plate.
