What’s up guys, Braden here with SuperATV. Today we’re going to show you how easy it is to install SuperATV’s half windshield on this Can-Am Maverick R, so let’s get right to it.
Peel Back Protective Film: First, grab the windshield and peel the protective film back all the way around, just enough to install the clamps and bulb seal. This step ensures the windshield is clean and ready for installation without any obstruction from the film.
Attach Clamps and Spacers: Grab one of the spacers and lay it on top of the clamp. Align the windshield with the clamp and insert the M6 hardware with a sealing washer through the spacer and clamp. Start the hardware into the clamp but leave it loose for adjustments. Repeat the same steps on the opposite side to ensure both clamps are correctly positioned. This ensures the windshield is properly aligned and secured.
Install Brackets: Take the bracket and install it onto the clamp using a small Allen without a washer and a larger Allen without a washer. Secure the bracket to the clamp, ensuring stability. Insert an M6 with a sealing washer through the windshield into the threaded portion of the clamp and fully tighten all the hardware. Repeat the same steps on the other side. This step ensures the brackets are securely attached for stable installation.
Install Bulb Seal: Grab the bulb seal and install it along the bottom edge of the clamp, running it all the way around to the opposite side clamp. Use an air hammer, dead blow hammer, or other suitable tools to secure the bulb seal without damaging the windshield. Cut off any excess bulb seal once it is properly in place. This ensures a tight seal and proper fit, preventing any gaps.
Protect and Mount Windshield: Before mounting the windshield, cut a piece of protective film from the windshield and lay it over the tube of the cage to prevent scratching. Slide the windshield over the protective film and carefully position it on the machine. Repeat this process on the opposite side. This step ensures the windshield is installed without damaging the vehicle’s frame.
Attach Windshield Hardware: With the windshield in place, take the hardware previously removed from the clamps and reinstall it. Slide one bolt through and start it in the clamp. Insert the divider piece with the SuperATV logo facing outward, then slide the other bolt through and tighten. Ensure the windshield is in the correct position and tighten all the hardware. Remove the remaining protective film. This secures the windshield firmly to the machine.
Tighten Hardware and Wrap Up: Fully tighten all the hardware and ensure the windshield is securely installed. This completes the installation process.
