What’s up, guys? Today we’re going to show you how easy it is to install SuperATV’s rear seat conversion on this Polaris RZR XP 1000 in just 3 steps!

1) Remove the Seat

Start by opening the rear door. Reach inside and grab the latch on the back side of the seat and lift it out of the machine. It’s between the seat back and the seat itself. Grab the lever, lift it up, and you’re good to remove the seat from the machine.

A man reaches his left hand between the RZR's seat and the back to flip a small lever.
The switch is located between the seat and the back.

Next, we will remove the seat base from our factory seat. Your hardware may look different—ours has been changed at some point. Once you’ve removed it, set the base aside.

A man uses a red drill to remove bolts from the bottom of the RZR's seat.
When you remove these bolts, set them aside for reuse.

For the next step, you will need two of the short allen-headed hardware, which is M10 x 30mm. You also need four spacers, four of the M10 x 55mm allen-headed bolts, and six flat washers. Take a short allen-headed bolt with a flat washer and a bracket and align the holes on the bracket with the holes on the rear cargo base. Go to the backside with the cutout and slide the bolt up through the bracket. Add another flat washer and apply one of the provided Nylock nuts. Finger-tighten the nut for now. Repeat this step on the opposite side.

A man installs a bolt through a bracket to hold it steady.
You don’t want it to be too tight—you’ve got more bolts to add! Finger-tight will do.

2) Prepare the Kit

Now take two of the long allens with two of the flat washers. Slide them up through the base and the bracket in the middle and top positions. Slide them onto your work surface to hold the bolts in place. Repeat those steps on the opposite side.

A man uses a table to hold two bolts in place before he installs the nuts to hold them in place.
Scoot the holes over the edge of the work surface and slide the bolts through from underneath.

Take the four spacers and slide them over all four long allen bolts. Take the seat base that you removed from the factory seat earlier and place it over the bolts. You want to ensure the handle that will release the seat is facing the front cutout. Make sure the two notches on the seat base are aligned with the large circle cut out in the cargo area.

The man places the bottom of the OEM seat with the handle facing out towards the cutout.
The handle should face away from the round cutout.

Take four more Nylock nuts and four more flat washers and install them over the seat base. The washers will go on the four bolts first, followed by the Nylock nuts. Finger-tighten the nuts for now. Once you’ve done that, you can fully tighten all the hardware. We’re using a 7mm socket and 6mm allen.

Using his fingers, a man tightens a nut onto a bolt.
Again, just finger-tighten the nut to start with then follow up with the socket wrench later.

Now take the cover. As you can see, there’s a bracket along the bottom side. This lines up with the cutouts on the conversion kit. Drop it straight in and lock it into place by rotating it. To remove it, revers the rotation and pull it straight out.

Aligning a cutout with the hole in the seat converter, the man turns it counter-clockwise to tighten it in place.
Place the cutout into the hole and turn it to lock it in place.

3) Install the Kit

Now repeat this entire process on the opposite side, starting with removing the seat. Then remove the base of the seat, install the brackets, and the spacers. Install the seat base, add the washers and nuts, and tighten everything completely. Don’t forget to add the cover as well.

Slide it in just like you would your seat. It’ll click loudly when it locks into place. Once you’ve got both in place, you’re done!

The installer slides the seat converter into place in the back of the machine.
You’ll hear a loud click when it’s installed.

That’s all there is to it to install SuperATV’s rear seat conversion kit! Don’t forget to check out our other awesome upgrades for your RZR XP 1000.

The SuperATV logo flashes over the installed seat conversion kits.
