Glamis Sand Dunes is one of our favorite ride parks, but did you know there’s some pretty delicious places to eat near the dunes too? Of course, this is kind of an “eat before you go” or “come hungry” situation, since Glamis is super remote (that’s one of the reasons it’s one of our top 10 trails in California). No matter what direction you’re approaching the dunes from, you’ll find all kinds of delicious options from pizza to steak to tacos. Is your mouth watering yet? Let’s dig in!

Tearing up the sand can really work up an appetite. Whether you’re looking for some delicious eats on your way in or out of the park, we’ve listed some of our favorite spots for a bit of grub.

Reviews“Can’t go wrong with their breakfast burrito, carne asada fries, and menudo! Great customer service and great food! Highly recommend them!”“The BEST customer service there could possibly be. We haven’t been to the Dunes in over 10 years and we can’t wait to come back! Also, BEST FOOD EVER.”“There is no bar in the Imperial Valley that beats this bar. Drinks, food, friends, music, they have it all. Must see!”

For those of you coming from the west, Brawley has some fantastic options for places to eat near Glamis Sand Dunes, but one place stands out. Daddy’s Famous Foods is a seasonal favorite that only pops up during the fall riding season specifically to cater to the crowds. It’s also one of your only choices for food within 20 miles of the park!

Reviews“The best burgers in town. I had their most popular burger and it was very juicy with that ‘home made’ taste. The bean and cheese burritos are amazing. You can eat your food on one of their benches outside. Adds a picnic kind of feel.”“Local icon. If you’re ever passing through Yuma it’s a must stop. Quick stop off I-8. Always made fresh to order & they get the orders out fast! I make it here at least once when I get to town.”“Best place for pizza in Yuma! The location is massive with tons of seating and a huge bar. A must visit when in the area. They have great staff and the best DESSERTS!”

Yuma is known for being a swanky little desert oasis. If you’re headed to Glamis from there, you’ll have no shortage of great places to eat. We picked some of our more low-key favorites. No one will bat an eye if you’re dusty, sweaty, or covered in sand at one of these joints.

We also used a different entrance to the park that’s closer to Yuma to calculate our distances.

Reviews“Small restaurant that is VERY busy for a reason. The food is authentic. Service is fast and friendly. Cooks in the kitchen have a good time and serve meals in minutes. THIS is the stop!”“I’ve been here so many times that I’ve lost count. The food quality has been extremely high every single time and it’s always super hot and fresh. PLEASE DON’T EVER GO AWAY!”“The only 5 star restaurant in Blythe. My favorites are the friend chicken thighs, baked beans and mac and cheese. Delicious homecooked food!”

Yes, people actually do travel from north of Glamis too! You’ll definitely want to find a great place to eat before you get to the dunes if you’re coming from the Blythe area because it’s a long haul to the park.

Be Prepared

Glamis is HUGE and can be confusing for newcomers. If you need help with something other than finding a great spot to eat, we’ve got you covered. Since you’ll definitely need more than a few stops at local grub joints to keep your body fueled, we recommend you add a cargo box/cooler to your rig. It’s perfect for carting snacks, drinks, and other supplies around the dunes. Be prepared, stay hydrated, and stay safe. We’ll see you on the sand!
