If you’ve spent any amount of time around UTVs, you know just how helpful they are—by definition, these machines are built for utility. You’re not getting the most out of your side-by-side until you’ve tapped into its true towing capacity potential.
Many off-road vehicles are capable of towing thousands of pounds worth of cargo. But which one takes the lead when it comes to pulling its weight? We’ve put together this UTV towing capacity comparison to give you an idea.
NOTE: Towing a trailer is a great way to expand your UTV’s cargo storage capacity, but it can also be dangerous. Consult your owner’s manual and follow all manufacturer recommendations when towing.
When it comes to styles of trailers made for UTVs, you’re spoiled for choice. There’s a long list of UTV/ATV- specific trailers. Both single and double axle models are available, and there are even dump bed models on the market.
Like the vehicles themselves, UTV and ATV-specific trailers tend to be narrow. These smaller dimensions come in handy on most jobsites, though. Working in tight conditions is a lot less of a hassle when you aren’t in a massive truck or a tractor.
It’s important to note that, like UTVs, trailers have a limit as to how much they can carry. Make sure not to overload either one.
If you aren’t using your side-by-side to tow trailers, you might be working too hard. We wanted to change that, so we created the ultimate UTV towing capacity comparison—a list of some of the best side-by-sides for towing. We also included some of the most popular models for good measure.
We’ve arranged them by their towing capacity. In case of a tie, we organized each model in alphabetical order (sorry, Yamaha).

Is there any plans to manufacture items for the Mahidra Roxor ?
Hey Steve! We do not currently have any plans at this time, but feel free to reach back out in the future. Thanks for tuning in with us!
Hi Steve, just curious of the Majandra rock sore people got back to you with the trailer for ur sidexside as I have a friend that purchased a used one and could not find A trailer that met his needs.
Nothing personal against you, but that sounded like a blow off response “no we don’t have it and you contact us and we won’t bother to contact you.” Pretty lame answer unless they’ve contacted you in the past two years besides directly, no answer here. Anybody that would show a picture of a skinny little eight wheel trailer has never tried to cross a buckshot mud Beanfield that has been subsoiled much less trying to carry a couple of thousand pounds of anything behind utv.
