We’re coming at ya with another installment of our Ride with Us series! In this series, we bring in two SuperATV employees with similar UTVs that are outfitted in different ways. And you’ll get to see how we like to cut loose when we’re not in the office.
Ride with Us also serves as a sort of guide. You’ll get to see how you can customize your own rig with SuperATV parts that match your riding style. There’s no limit to what the right part can do for you.
This time, we’re looking at a 2016 and 2017 Polaris General 1000. Nick and John are giving us the lowdown on how a little SuperATV magic turns a standard General into their perfect General.
This 2017 Polaris General 1000 belongs to Nick. At SuperATV, Nick takes a new product idea and makes sure it makes sense before we start working on it. He started riding a 1980s Honda XR75 dirt bike at 9 years old to chase his older brother around on the farm they grew up on. He never stopped riding and picked up his 2017 Polaris General a few years ago. It’s perfect for hunting or working and for keeping up with his buddies at riding parks.
Nick’s General 1000 is a mix of parts to meet the demands of an everyday work machine that has to get wild on the weekends. He beefed it up with front and rear bumpers paired with nerf bars because it needs all the protection it can get on the trail—Nick rides hard. But the cab heater, enclosure doors, roof, and front and rear windshields—a request from his wife—ensure that plowing in the winter is as warm as it is easy.

John didn’t grow up riding four wheelers, but he did catch the off-road bug from his ATV-loving friend over a decade ago. After he started working at SuperATV as a design engineer, it was inevitable that he would fall for UTVs too. Enter the 2016 Polaris General 1000. Like Nick, the versatility of the General was appealing and made it an easy choice.
John’s machine is outfitted from top to bottom for durability and protection—he’s ready to hit the trail regardless of the day, month, time, or challenge. With bumpers and nerf bars for protection, Warrior Tires for all-terrain performance, lights for keeping the trail bright at night, and a cab enclosure to keep comfortable, this rig is ready for anything.

Two machines, two riders, and a whole lot of upgrades. Even though they aren’t using them for the same exact things—Nick spends more time on the farm whereas John spends more time on the trails—they’ve each built them up to be the best of both worlds. That’s what the Polaris General 1000 is all about.
So whether you want to get work done, rocket down trails, or both, SuperATV has you covered.
