Your Polaris RZR Pro R is a monster machine with specs that make other RZRs cower in embarrassment. With 225 HP, a 74-inch stance, and 29 inches of usable travel, there’s no arguing that it’s a great platform.

But just because it has the raw capability doesn’t mean it’s built for the way you want to ride. If you enjoy full weekends of full-send adventures, we’ve got a build that will boost protection, recovery, reliability, and cargo.

These RZR Pro R parts aren’t a prescription for a great weekend though—choose what you need to match your trails and budget, and you’ll be having a blast in no time.

Build Around the Ride, Not the Parts

We’re starting with the basic protection and durability upgrades that everyone can use. Beyond that, what you need depends on whether you ride in Moab, the Rockies, the South, or anywhere else.

We’ve got different performance suggestions to match your different priorities, because there’s no such thing as a complete one-size-fits-all RZR Pro R build. We’re building around the way you ride.

Protect It Before You Push It

Before you hit any trail, you’ve got to make sure your Pro R can handle the trail hitting back. You don’t want to head home at the end of a weekend with a hefty repair bill, or worse, a massive towing fee. Here’s what to start with:

  • Full Skid Plate—Our 1/2-inch ARMW skid plate gives you awesome undercarriage protection that helps prevent damage from stuff like rocks and branches. ARMW is a special blend of UHMW, and like UHMW, it’s incredibly tough and is smooth enough to glide over obstacles rather than getting hung up.
  • Front Bumper—Whether you’re a careless driver or not, adding our frame-mounted front bumper helps prevent grille and plastic damage. Plus it’s compatible with 6” and 12” LED light bars for more utility.
  • 6000 lb. Ready-Fit Winch—Our Ready-Fit Winch comes prewired with a premounted solenoid to make installation as simple as possible. Our 6000 Lb. Black Ops Winch is enough to handle a fully loaded and upgraded Pro R in just about any tricky situation.

Strengthen the Parts That Can End the Day

These vulnerable parts take a real beating on hard rides. And the failure of any steering, suspension, or axle component will end your ride real fast. We recommend upgrading these to give every adventure a better shot at success:

  • RackBoss 2.0 Billet Tie Rod Kit—A steering failure can stop the ride immediately. These rods are tough, lightweight, and look great. Plus, they use beefed-up chromoly steel inner and outer tie rod ends.
  • Sidewinder A-Arms—These boxed A-arms add a ton of durability to your suspension. The upper heims give you adjustable camber too. They’re great for rocks, ruts, and running big tires. Plus, we’ll preinstall upgraded ball joints if you want.
  • Rhino 2.0 Axles—Our Rhino 2.0 Axles are an awesome upgrade for hard riding and larger tires. They’re built with end-to-end chromoly steel and maximized components for boosted strength and lower running temps.

Carry a Spare Tire Without Losing the Bed

Now we’re getting to the stuff that separates a regular RZR Pro R build from one built for adventure. These cargo solutions will keep you going with the extra gear you need to ride all weekend.

Cargo Rack Alpha—This rack carries a spare tire and wheel up to 38 inches in diameter. It sits above your bed and uses gas struts to lift and give you access to your bed. If you don’t want to bring a spare, you can easily strap down a cooler or other storage box (up to 75 lb.).

Cooler/Cargo Box—Our combo cooler and cargo box gives you 30 liters of sealed and insulated storage. Whether you’re keeping food cool or keeping dust out of your next change of clothes, this box is built for it. It bolts to your Pro R using a custom mounting solution so you don’t have to depend on bungee cords or straps to keep it secure.

Stay Comfortable When the Weather Turns

We always start with the same comfort recommendation for anybody that wants to ride from sunup to sundown: our polycarbonate Scratch-Resistant Flip Windshield.

This windshield gives you full protection when it’s fully closed but can be opened or vented when you want a breeze. Whether you’re dealing with a cold morning, hot afternoon, or sudden cloudburst, this windshield’s got you covered.

It uses our XR Optic Hard Coating to boost scratch and UV resistance on both sides of the 1/4-inch polycarbonate. It gives you long-term clarity and the polycarbonate strength you want on a high-speed machine.

Plus, we have options for 2022-2024 RZR Pro R models and 2025+ Pro R models.

And don’t forget to add a rear windshield to prevent dust suction caused by running a front windshield by itself.

Prioritize the Build for Your Terrain

If this is going to be your ultimate build, this is where you have to choose what you want to prioritize. Here are some recommended upgrades for different riding terrain. We know plenty of trails blur the lines between these archetypes, so make adjustments where it makes sense for you.

Desert and Fast Trail

Tie rods, axles, cargo security, and an open/vented windshield move up the list. Avoid adding any big, bulky parts you like just because you think they look cool.

Rock and Technical Trail

Full skid plate, Sidewinder A-Arms, high-clearance radius arms, and the 6000-lb Ready-Fit Winch become the most important upgrades for this kind of terrain.

Mud and Wet Trails

The 6000-lb winch, skid plate, sealed Cooler/Cargo Box, and windshield protection matter a lot for mud.

These lists aren’t designed to turn your Pro R into a mud monster or anything like that. They just prioritize the adventure-focused upgrades that will make the most difference in each terrain.

Is Your Pro R Adventure Ready?

You always notice the parts that aren’t doing what they’re supposed to. But the funny thing about getting great parts on your machine is that you completely forget about them when you’re out on the trail. When you can focus on your hands on the wheel and the trail around you, the machine disappears, and you can really experience everything your Pro R has to offer.
