How do you pick the best aftermarket doors for your sport model UTV? So many sport side-by-sides only come with a partial door (looking at you, Can-Am Maverick), but larger OEM doors can leave much to be desired too. We’ve broken down all the best aftermarket side-by-side doors so you can pick the one that’s best for you and your sport machine.

First off, you have to know your machine. Some machines come with a partial door: the Can-Am Maverick, Honda Talon, Polaris RZR, and CFMOTO ZForce. Many of these machines have a variety of sub-models and model years that may have different door styles. When you’re shopping, make sure you’re looking for the right doors for your machine, or you’re doomed to be disappointed.

Plenty of other sport UTVs come with more robust doors—some RZRs, the Kawasaki KRX, Yamaha YZX, and the Arctic Cat Wildcat. But just because the door goes from the floor to your armpit doesn’t necessarily make it a good one. Some are made with cheap plastic, or maybe you want full coverage to protect you from the elements.

To pick the right door, you should consider the following:
Now that you know your rig, you need to know how and where you ride. Are you a mud lover? A sand racer? Rock crawler? All terrains pose different challenges and carry different risks—from sand in your mouth to sticks flying into the cab—you need a door that can keep up with how you ride.
When it comes to choosing a door that matches your ride style, the material the door is made from is the most important choice you’ll make. The most common materials are plastic, aluminum, polycarbonate, and soft doors made from a variety of fabrics.

We’ve collected a variety of the best aftermarket doors for sport model UTVs below and included relevant information to help you pick the ideal door for your machine.
Plastic doors can look really slick. They generally look more like an OEM product than any other option with a snazzy vibe that’ll emphasize your side-by-side’s natural good looks. Plastic is generally very lightweight and flexible (depending on quality). You’ll get pretty decent protection from them too. They’re ideal for mud and standard trail riding.
Plastic doors are a good option for most ride styles, but if you’re super into rock crawling, you may want to look for more heavy-duty options.
We carry aftermarket plastic doors for a few RZR models, so if this sounds like what you’ve been searching for, look no further.
Best for: style/aesthetics
Worst for: strength
Price: $
Quality: depends on vendor—look for products that mention “impact resistance”
Warranty: look for 3 months minimum

Now we’re talking hardcore! Aluminum doors are a built to take a beating. They’re tougher than OEM and aftermarket plastic doors by definition. They’re still pretty light too, so they won’t weigh your rig down.
If you like to rock crawl, race across the dunes, or dominate the swampy bottoms, aftermarket aluminum doors are a great choice. You basically can’t go wrong with aluminum—unless you’re trying to seal out 100% of the elements. In that case, aluminum doors may not be for you.
Back in the early days of UTVs, lots of riders had custom aluminum doors built for their rigs. These days, you can skip the wait (and the cost) and grab a set from us at SuperATV.
Best for: strength
Worst for: sealing out the elements
Price: $$$
Quality: generally good—look for powder-coated options for longevity
Warranty: look for 3 months minimum

We love polycarbonate for it’s strength (250 times stronger than glass) and unbeatable transparency. You can get a variety of poly doors for your rig. There’s full replacement doors, poly inserts for the upper half of the door, and—our favorite—lower door inserts.
Like aluminum doors, polycarbonate is good for most ride styles. Rock crawlers love it because it’s perfectly see-through but still protects you from random rocks and debris. Mud crawlers like the combined visibility and protection for the same reason. They’re decent for sand riding too, and provide a better seal against sand and water than aluminum.
We’re pretty crazy about poly at SuperATV. We make a ton of lower door inserts for sport model UTVs that attach directly to your OEM door. They provide improved protection from obstacles on the trail without blocking your view to the ground and your tires. We’ve been raving about them since day one.
Best for: visibility
Worst for: scratches
Price: $–$$$$
Quality: generally good—look for at least 1/4” thickness and included bulb seals
Warranty: look for 1 year minimum

Comparatively speaking, soft doors are a pretty new addition to the sport model UTV conversation. But that doesn’t make them bad! Soft doors are great for basic protection from trail debris and the elements and can be easily removed during good weather. They can be combined with poly lower door inserts or used on their own, making them a total team player.
They’re ideal for general trail riding, mud, and even rock crawling. They make great dune doors, too, depending on how the fasten to your frame—Velcro does a great job of sealing out sand. If you’re riding on a variety of terrain, soft doors may be the perfect choice.
Soft doors’ quality varies, so make sure you read the reviews and warranty info before purchasing anything. At SuperATV, we use our custom Pel-Tek technology to make some of the best soft doors around. We thought about everything we hated about crappy soft doors and fixed it—no yellowing windows, no mold or mildew, two ways to secure them to your rig so they won’t blow away—the list goes on and on. If you care about quality, you’ll love our Primal Soft Cab Upper Doors.
Best for: versatility
Worst for: extreme cold
Price: $-$$$
Quality: varies widely—check reviews and look for PVC-backed polyester
Warranty: look for 1 year minimum

Hey Wayne, unfortunately we don’t sell our poly or fabric as a component. It’s possible that you could retrofit one of our doors to fit your Argo, but I haven’t heard of anyone doing that and I wouldn’t know where you’d begin. Sorry about that. Good luck either way.
