It’s a common conception that things are cheaper when made outside the country, whether that’s technology, apparel, or even side-by-sides. CFMOTO is a prime example of this. And they’re not hiding behind their small price tags.
In fact, their mission is to provide their customers with exceptional, top-end vehicles at affordable prices—that’s something we have in common. We pride ourselves on making quality products for top-end machines.
But does the small price tag represent the quality of the machine? Let’s take a look!

Since 1989, CFMOTO has been establishing itself in Hangzhou, China. During this time, CFMOTO’s reputation had consumers on the fence about purchasing their machines. Sure, the price tag was affordable, but the customer reviews suggested that the parts were cheap and performance wasn’t any better.

CFMOTO Shatters “Cheap” Assumptions
In 2002, CFMOTO made a strong rebuttal by releasing its first line of UTVs and ATVs in America. They’ve been able to dispute the popular assumption that CFMOTO “is made cheap” when its founder created and trademarked the liquid-cooled 4-stroke engine.
Does this type of engine seem familiar to you? It should—almost every side-by-side manufacturer has used it in one of their models. Since its release, CFMOTO has climbed to the top, making the list of most popular and profitable side-by-side manufacturers worldwide. But have they done enough in the last twenty years to shake the “cheap” label?
Yes, they have! Let’s make the comparison.

Take a look at the specs above—they’re a good reference point when you walk into a dealership ready to buy a CFMOTO off the showroom floor. No matter if you’re a seasoned buyer or not, you’re going to want to make sure the quality and specifications are an accurate representation of its monetary value. And after looking at the specs, you can tell CFMOTO has hit the nail on the head.
The table above shows that CFMOTO and Can-Am are competitively priced. And shockingly, the retail value of the Defender HD9 is less than CFMOTO’s UForce 1000. On the other hand, you have Polaris’ Ranger XP 1000, retailing at seven thousand dollars more than both Can-Am and CFMOTO.
Besides the price tags, there’s not a big quantitative difference between the three side-by-sides. It’s safe to say the only thing Polaris has a leg up on is engine displacement and horsepower, but the margins aren’t anything to blow CFMOTO and Can-Am out of the water.
Now the standard features, that’s an entirely different ball game. CFMOTO knocks it out of the park. Their numbers double when it comes to the standard accessories you get on your machine, giving you a winch, full side mirrors, LED lights, roof, EPS, and more.
CFMOTO’s newest machine is the ZForce Z10—a sporty side-by-side that might be their most ambitious machine yet. It’s the only turbocharged machine with an MSRP under $20K, and it’s no slouch either. Its turbocharged 998 cc engine pumps out 154 horsepower and 107 lb-ft of torque. That’s an extremely good price-to-power ratio that should make any rider salivate.
And it didn’t have to cut a bunch of corners either. It has one of the largest touchscreen displays of any production side-by-side in its 12.3-inch RideSync touchscreen. It uses FOX QSE electronically adjustable suspension, which you can adjust right from the steering wheel. Plus, it comes complete with their new OmniDrive CVT transmission to improve power delivery on all kinds of terrain.
And in typical CFMOTO fashion, it comes with a winch.
It’s just hard to argue with the value of the Z10 when you see performance numbers like that. All these premium features would run you $25,000 or more with other manufacturers. With CFMOTO, it’s like you’re time-traveling to when everything seemed more affordable.

The ZForce Z10 packs a lot of power into an affordable machine. It’s poised to shake up the way riders think about how power and price are related. Photo by CFMOTO
CFMOTO is gaining recognition as one of the top side-by-side manufacturers. They’ve put action behind their mission, changing the opinions of off-roading enthusiasts and riders daily. Do they manufacture and produce the majority of their lineup in China? Yes. Does it give us a cheaper price tag? Yes. But the affordable retail price doesn’t mean they have compromised the quality of their machines.
Their resilience over the last twenty years has put them in a great position. They don’t just sit among other great, internationally-recognized manufacturers such as Can-Am and Polaris—they are challenging Can-Am and Polaris to put out the top side-by-sides on the market, which is great for us.
Whether you go with CFMOTO, Polaris, Can-Am, Honda, or anything else, we’ve got the parts and accessories to help you stay on the trail and get the most out of your side-by-side.
In the past, some may have questioned CFMOTO’s reliability and discounted it for being a Chinese brand. But this is a company that is now competing directly with top North American brands like Polaris and Can-Am with an impressive 12-month warranty to match. Combine that with an expanded dealer network and growing evidence from customers that they don’t crap out after the first ride, and you can be reasonably certain that you’re getting a machine that’s as reliable as the competition.
Your mileage may vary, though. No manufacturer is immune to problems, and that’s true of CFMOTO too. You’ll find plenty of people who will swear up and down that they’re crap and won’t hold up in the long run. That’s not been our experience, but that doesn’t mean those folks complaining are wrong.
And while the dealer network is expanding, that doesn’t mean you have local support for your machine just yet. You’ll want to consider what services you have available before you decide on any brand’s machine.

stay away from cfmoto complete junk have 700 miles on a 2019 zforce 800 trail i have a blown motor apprently your suppose to change the air filter ever time you ride nobody told me. And I’m not the only one this has happened too. no warranty any more either.3500 for a new motor that’s just great. I had just cleaned the filter 2 rides before and my rides wasn’t that long I figured id check it wasnt that bad. The dealer said it was full of mud but that’s not true bc we hadn’t had any rain for a couple of months it was all dust. Stay away I’ll never buy another one they look great and have some cool features but wished I’d done my homework
Sounds like it’s your fault and not CFMOTO,s. Sounds like you were riding in high dust areas and neglected to clean or change air filter. Why would the dealer lie and say your machine looked neglected?
Why would a dealer lie ? Surely you didn’t ask that question! I’m not saying one way or the other but dealers lie all the time. I’ve own every kind of bike there is spent thousands of dollars and I’ve caught them in lie’s several times.
Dealers Lie” All the time. They Are Salesmen.. I been raised on Bikes All my life, raised with 6 brothers, We dirted, Mudded, Everything Imaginable. Dust Should Not bother The Filter after a couple Rides. Mud on the other hand is a Different Story!. My Hondas” And Kawasaki Seem to go an go. Our Farm Bike used thru Mud an Swamps which is a Kawasaki ,an pulling cart thru Tall Weeds, Went thru farm life of 5 years With No Service, just adding Oil with No Filter Replaced. Many farm people using it.. If a Filter needs replaced After Every dusty Ride,,I Wouldn’t Want it!.
Jim, I’m not sure where you reside, but it seems that you may be one of the lucky one’s that lives in a place where there is still honesty, integrity, transparency, and a solid reputation behind the businesses you interact with, and have become a loyal customer of. Unfortunately, many automotive dealers now days have adopted a business practice that “passes the buck around, and back and forth” to try and get out of warranty repairs, as well as accepting responsibility for manufacturer defects. Yes, they will lie, no matter how subtle.
Is this true. You have to change the air filter after every ride? If I’m buying a used 2021 and using it around my property of 8 acres in woods and around my yard. What should I look for if buying this used? It is selling for 9,900.00 is that a good price ?
I concur…most dealers are money driven and that’s why I prefer smaller family staffed dealerships even if they are a bit more expensive…
2018 CF Moto 550 ATV
Cf moto sux
It says I have 104 miles on it
Soon as I left the store they lied and all of a sudden I had 40 miles on it
Then I noticed the scratch
Which they replaced
Then the 2 tire caps were missing
Then I had to jump it not having it on for 4-5 days
Then I bought new battery
Then another
Even the battery that goes to it is cheap Chinese junk
So it also says I’ve driven it 104 hours
Lie
I’ve driven to car wash a total of 5x 6 blocks away
Drove to buddies house 4 houses down
Drove into desert about 4x
So it’s barely driven in my opinion
So now I’ve bought another battery and it’s turning over and sometimes starting
I never was told by the asshats who sold me the machine anything about changing air filter
I check it
Allot of people have blown polaris side by side motors up this same way. Go check it out. They are also complete junk
Totally disgusted with the lack of care and customer service from CF Moto!
I bought a brand new u-force 1000 to take hay to the horses in the pasture and drive up and down the driveway. It was never trail ridden or abused. I did the 200 mile break-in and started noticing issues around 800 mi. It started using oil extensively and I brought it to a dealer around a 1000mi. The dealer charged me $700 to tell me that the engine was shot and needed to be replaced. After trying extensively to get some support from CF Moto on the matter they would not budge or back up their product at all. They only told me that it was out of warranty and I was out of luck. Also, customer service at CFMoto told me that I should have changed the oil every 200 mi and cleaned the air filter every time I went up and down my driveway, absolutely ridiculous! If you’re curious and are interested in purchasing any CFMoto product you may want to first go on to the BBB website and read reviews. I sure wish I would have.
Not good to see this. I was going to buy one this year now I’m not dealers are selling these things like hotcakes because of price point what’s your thoughts stay away
Have you ever bought anything that was the cheapest and the best? Those just don’t go together. Not to mention, many people (myself included) prefer to pay a little more, or even a lot more, to buy domestic.
to be fair nothing is “domestic”. All manufacturers source atleast some parts from other countries
We put 2hours on this side by side cf Moto 950 sport and all 4 brake calipers blow and the rear diff vent hose has a hole I have owned it two hours and now back to the shop and to beat that my girlfriend and kid where on it and it damn near fought fire
My brother just got a cfmoto 800. We were trying to move a small car port shed by dragging it about 10’. The belt started stinking. My brother freaked out so I cut it loose. Ended up shoving around by hand. He was really disappointed. Pathetic. My dads kubota will pull a truck up a hill.
I just want to say that we have owned 4 CFMOTOs and recently just bought a ZFORCE 950 HO Sport. We ride alot mostly in Moab Ut. These machines hold up to anything we have put them through. In my opinion they are the best side x sides out there and we will alway buy CFMTO.
Only 4??? Why
I’d say you’re just saying that because it’s Chinese
I have a 2919 cf moto zforce 800 with a blown motor and 700 miles. Complete junk and zero customer service and support. The company wouldn’t even talk to me. No one told me of the faulty design and that you had to change the air filter after every ride.
Yes,
purchased two CForce 500s.
Didn’t get 10 miles. One has electrical problems. The other brakes went out. Been waiting 73 days for dealership to get warranty acceptance to repair them. Either the dealer is dishonest or CFMOTO is not honoring the warranty. Dealership claims I can pay out of pocket and get reimbursed when manufacturer honors the warranty.
When we were riding in sand and dusty areas. We would CHANGE are air filters out for a clean one EVERY RIDE. Guess what we never blew up our 1990’s dirt bikes. All we would do is rebuild the top end after so many hours or compression drop. They lasted until this day.
Just got a camo uforce 1000 from Handle Bar Motor Sports in Durango Co. They loaded it on my trailer. Took it home to Pagosa Springs to my garage to outfit it to hunt on my lease in Texas. It was jerky off the trailer and to the garage. I guessed it was the way I used my foot. I installed a rear winch on a welded bar I had done. Put on bar lights front and back. Installed a switch for a front mounted corn feeder. When done with this, took it out for a ride. In low gear it still jerked on take off and wasn’t smooth under 10pm. The machine has less than 20 miles on it. I’ve owned 3 Yamaha 4-wheelers and two snow mobiles with many miles on them. My dealer said the drive belt was burned and they would see if it was under warranty!
They are jumpy mine did the same. the more I drove it the better it got. Now it drives just like my Polaris and can am hd9. as far as dependability I have had Zero problems. I have hard doors,Elks shocks, 30″ tires, super atv high clearance A-arms, an ECU tuner and stage 2 Clutch kit from MSC. Its a beast and my go to machine. I drive this thing like a trophy truck. Give it time they are different for sure but its a good machine.
all those chinese cheep stuff are hit or miss (more often miss, lol) sometimes they perform surprisingly well, but quite often they are complete junk… i imagine it is cause of poor quality control
What model can am do you have?
There is an adjustment rod on the shifter. Need to be turned towards you one turn at a time .mark the top of rod with a marker or pencil 1st.
Get a super ATV belt the clutch will work a lot better. The stock belts are junk in my opinion
I own a cf moto 2021 800 trail. I love it. We have taken it to South Dakota twice now a it did everything that we asked it to do. It stayed up with Yamaha Polaris and Kawasaki. Went everywhere with it. It road great and l could run 60to65 with no problem on the highway. Climbed the mountains and crossed streams. And put a lift 2inch and widened the suspension. Love it have had no problems with it at all. Best bang for your buck hands down.
I bought a 22 800 trail. I only have about 800km on it and have had nothing but a great time on it. It is getting the 2″ perfex lift kit as well as the 1.5″ perfex wheels spacers this week. Rjwc exhaust and a monster efi tune pretty excited to get it back Friday
Bought my CFMOTO unforce 1000 in 2021. Took it hunting and it did very well loved it except the delay when you take off. Use it around the place doing chores. Took it into the dealer to have transition adjusted to get rid of the delay but it just got worse. This is my second year hunting with it and I want to burn the dam thing down. The hesitation has gotten worse. It sounds like a bunch of rocks in the Transmission. The worst is I only have a little over 500 miles on it. Went from satisfied to very disappointed in a hurry. Won’t buy another one.
You might just need a RNG clutch kit, check his YouTube page out.
I havea 2019 cfmoto Z force Trail 500cc EPS which now has 13500km on it have had a few minor issues like exhaust shields, muffler seal under warranty and tie rod ends but other than regular services and clean air filters regularly, two drive belts ‘aftermarket’ I climb mountain logging roads in BC its going great ive had two polaris sportsman 500s which I did alot of repairs to so I’m happy with CFmoto.
You got a bad one or the mechanics don’t know what they are doing. Get a stage 2 clutch kit from Main street Cycle and it will change your mind
I have had an equally bad experience, though not with the bike yet but the dealer. From the first week it often wouldn’t start but I worked out if I riggled the relays it would. I told to dealer nothing happened. I changed the relays myself and good so far. And then after a couple of months an oil pressure warning began flashing. They looked at it when it went in for a service but no fix. They said bring it back and they will have a look at it but I got busy with other work but thought that should be serious enough to warrant them picking up and leaving a loaner under warranty but no action and oil light still winking. I have told those who ask the bike might be alright but avoid having anything to do with the dealer. Buy another brand, its not worth the grief.
my 2022 cfmoto uforce 1000 was herky jerkey i installed the main street cycle stage 3 clutch kit made all the difference in the world
Hey Rocky,
Thanks so much for your feedback! We love to hear it.
Good day. I an Hennig the DOE at Bawah resort. We are looking for guest transport buggies with short wheel space and that will be able to drive in a beach. That same for a utility buggy to transport goods also on beach sand. Can you please recommend? Thank you very much.
Hey Hennig. I would recommend a Polaris Ranger SP 570 for both situations. The standard model makes a great utility machine, and the CREW model adds a second row for a total of four riders. They’re 56″ wide and easy to get in and out of. The CFMOTO UForce 1000 and UForce 1000 XL are good alternatives, but they are 64″ wide. None of these vehicles can climb dunes very well, but they should all be able to travel over sand without issue. Thanks for reading! Hopefully that helps!
I have a 2023 cfmoto cforce 110 an it is a power less pile of **** I have kfx 2022 90 an a 2002 Polaris scrambler 90 an both of them have twice the power so the cfmoto cforce 110 is not worth buying at any price an yes I would love to trade it for any Japan made 90 cc quads
I have a 2018 c Force 500 HO ATV I can climb I can go through the mud I do everything with it it’s been really good to me when I first got it the winch messed up a little bit and they put me a brand new one on no questions ask. Thinking seriously about getting the 800.
Have two 2021 600 four wheelers and U force 800 side by side, have no problems with any of the other than had to get a new fuse for fan on side by side, my sons have 2020 Artic Cat and a 2021 Kawasaki Teryx, have drove them both and will pick the U Force above the other two, has nothing to do with price, does everything I want and runs better, like article states go drive them.
well, one year can hardly vouch for quality, i wanna have my atv for 10 years at least
Have a 2021 zforce 1000 , great machine no issues but I did add a2″ lift kit. Unit was a little low
We have had a 2021 CF Moto ex 800 for 2 years and it’s been a awesome machine no problems at all with it. I love the machine.
I got a Zforce 950 they are not Not honoring my Five year warranty not having it over a month only have 64 miles on a brand new 2022 Machine CF MOTO is a trash and not good with business $21,000 I paid for the Machine I know it was a machine defect The front wheel comes off while riding down a hill They say it’s my fault so they won’t honor my warranty sThey say it’s my fault so they won’t honor my warrant So I advise no one to buy a CF Moto product at all two problems less than a month on a $21,000 machine and have not honor one file your warranty I paid for They are trash
Something seems a little off about your story here. I have an original 2020 Zforce 950…..first model year for the machine. 5000 miles and zero issues. Post the dealer you purchased your machine thru….I will contact them and ask them why CFMOTO isn’t honoring your warranty. Also if you could please locate the data tag and post the VIN # of the machine that will help me help you faster.
I had a 2021 950. I had no issues with it and put about 1100 miles on it. Put an extended warranty on it too. I had 2 cforce 500 atv’s which I sold to get the 950. I had very little problems with them. They were both 2018’s. My dealer was great to work with if I did have any issues. I guess the only real issue you I had with the 950 was leg room. My knees would get stiff because I couldn’t stretch out. I’m 6′ so not a real big guy but just felt cramped. Sat in my brother in laws can am and was like wow I can stretch my legs. So I sold the zforce and bought a can am maverick. I can keep up with my kid and his razor a lot better! I would probably by another zforce if they come out with one with more leg room. Paying 15000 for one of those is better than the 25000 I paid for the can am!
Wow I have been thinking of buying the 2seater 600 side by side now hym having second opinion I have a 2015 Polaris 570 x2 sportsman runs great winter I put plow on it and it’s great no problem s just interested in side by side maybe I will stay with Polaris ?
Our riding buddies have a 2015 zforce 800 trail that has 5k miles on it without any problems. It has been used and abused. It has been a snow plow, and a trail buggy. It has been rolled at least once, been in winter temperatures and 100+ without any problems. Has original transmission and engine. It impressed us so much that we bought a new 2021 and have had no issues with it. There are some things that are a pain, like the battery and airbox locations. The aftermarket support is a lot less than a Polaris. Has done everything we have needed it to do.
I have a 2017 ZForce 800 EX and it’s been an absolute pleasure to own.
I drive the crap out of this thing, take it anywhere, tow, mud – everything and it’s never given me an issue.
A couple of warranty recalls for very minor items were sorted by the dealer.
Best UTV money I could have spent, bout to but a Uforce 1000 to add to my collection.
Just bought my third zforce the wife has the 800 trail and the little thing has stood tie to toe with my z950.I sold my 2021 to my brother so I could buy the 2022 z950 H.O Ex. I replaced a fuse I blew jumping on a hill the fuse blew on the landing but it landed hard shook its head and got right back to the trails despite my not paying attention to the trail but zero problems with either except for the air filter on the 800.there are a bunch of videos on how to move the air box which was the only complaint I personally know of. granted mass manufacturing will always burp out a lemon but I feel perfectly safe in my machine and I don’t have to worry about starting on fire or part of a class action suit .
I have a 800 uforce 2016. Installed roof, windshield and have only had minor problems. I have modified the air intake so it draws air from above the roof through Donaldson spinner and paper filters. Dust is a big problem in the desert with the stock intake behind the driver seat! Hope they come up with a design solution to fix this flaw. Great machine for the money!!
Junk… I have 1 bought brand new and only has 4 hours and the motor blew,, its been 2 months and still no motor
In the last few years, why would you intentionally go out and spend your hard earned money on a chinese product especially a high dollar item like a side by side. You get what you pay for and it’s less expensive( i.e. cheaper) for a reason.
I have a 2022 cforce 800EX, 1900KM of hauling me and my gf around on it through mud and water over the tires, dusty fire roads, and everything in between, follows my friends on can ams and polaris’s no problem. zero complaints so far
I’ve got the Z force 950. Have a lot better luck with it than I’d ever did with any Polaris that’s for sure.
How does the turning radius compare with these three?
Great question, Brad!
CFMOTO UForce 1000: 26.9 ft
Polaris Ranger XP 1000: 17 ft (crew)
Can-Am Defender HD9: approx. 26 ft
I was headed out tomorrow to actually look at CF Moto side by sides but now I am afraid to. I see a lot of positive feedback but at the same time I see a bunch of negative comments. This scares the crap out of me. I did notice also a lot of them for sale on market place…why? As for the fact that they are Chinese, not all Chinese stuff is junk. Kawasaki, Arctic Cat and a lot of others use Kymco (Chinese motors 450 cc and below) and have been for years). How do I know this, I was a certified Arctic Cat tech for 5 years. If I could own any ATV out there it would absolutely be a Honda 450 Rancher. They ain’t pretty, they ain’t fast but they run forever! Believe me I have turned wrenches on all of them including M-1 Tanks to Trident Submarines, nobody builds a perfect ATV!
The negative feedback is from people who hate anything that is Chinese, because of their western media pushing all the anti Chinese crap.
Don’t listen to them. If you like it go buy it. CFMotor are old in ATV’s business and they have solid experience from top companies they worked with for years like Kawasaki. I have neighbours who own 2 CFMotor ATVs for years, never had a single prob with them and they run great.

Can the negative feedback be from people having bad personal experience? No? It’s obligatory because of ignorance and propaganda?
Ok then.
Yeap…Surrrre” Cheneese stuff is N0-F…Good??! Your are afflicted by the ”US of A’s” Syndrome, Period! I have a ZForce 950 HO. Yes I agree it does not perform as a Honda as of its mechanic is different. If your not ready to ”learn to run an ATV the proper way”, than buy a frigging car and stay on the paved roads. 500-800 or 1000 needs to be on ”Low” gears for speed under 15-20 kmh although the machine will perform fairlay good. BUTT… the strap will last half a normal life, will be jerky ang you will smell this ”rubber smell of your incompetence”. Doing what it’s said in the book, will like me, last your belt still good over 3,720+kms. As of commical comments ont the air filters, this one has to be checked and blown out depending of type of driving. ”Every ride if you drive extreme dusty for 250-500km. As of, Can-Am and Polaris recommand to do it ”often”. On my CFMoto, I still drive the original and dépending my types of rides I blow it with compressed air more often than less. Concusion, I compare my driving, service, problems with Yamaha, Polaris, Can-Am and I’m surely proud to drive a CFMotto. Not because it is ”Cheneese” but because I paid 7000$ less for equal quality. More oftent than less the problems of a machine, is sitting in the seat. Think of it before bashing off a product! Finally if you praise that majority of dealers are lyars, you should consider to become one as some peoples seem to detain the absolute truth! Good Riding.
well i love my new cfmoto u force 600 i use it around the farm and trail riding and back roads into town, i strongly suggest a person should really check out there local dealers reputation, as you have to have your machine maintained , availability of parts, etc i dont care what brand you choose , if they can not take care of you , big problems ahead my dealer has done a good job of servicing my need and showing me the proper way to take care of it . i have over a 1000 miles on my u force and no problems yet. it is true that many of the top line side by side companys already have cf moto parts and engines in them. its your money , good luck.
I have rode ATV’s for 20 years and have had several Polaris ATV’s. The last one a 2016 a XP850 was a pile of junk. It would just shut down and not start for 20 min’s. Had it back to the dealer several times and never could get it to do it. 3 fuel pumps in 1100 miles, recall for a fire hazard. So I sold it and got a Can AM outlander 1000, it was melting the rear shock bump stop! the exhaust was so close. They replaced the shock 3 times and guess what? same thing of course. So I got a heat gun and started checking the temps in the shock area, took pictures and sent to Can Am, they then came up with a heat shield, problem solved. why not do this in the first place? it is a common problem, the outlander forum is full of complant’s . So I bought a CF Moto C force 600 last year and have had zero problems after 900 miles. Riding hear in Colorado beats these things up really bad, everywhere you go the trails are rocky..Would buy a second one with no problem. On a side note, just check on the Goverment web site CPSC it will show recalls of all the MFG of offroad products. Polaris is double of any other, law suites, stop sale orders to dealers. Never again I would buy a Polaris

I have a cf moto 600 touring 4-wheeler bought 2 years ago and have not had a problem with it yet I specially the 4wheel drive that locks all 4 wheels when engaged but all around great 4-wheeler I have No Complaints.
I had an 800 cf moto, ok, but doing maintenance was harder than on American made
I have a 2023 CF Moto UFORCE XL, I haven’t had issues with it. The jerkiness did take some getting used to. I feel it’s a good value for the price and have no complaints about power, etc. IMO all sxs/UTV no matter the brand has issues. Look on any forum or Facebook group and you will see complaints from owners of all brands. Most of the bashing will happen to any product they feel is from China. I ride motorcycles and it’s the same stuff from the harley group. If it’s not HD they bash it.
I have a 2020 CFMOTO 500 ATV. I had nothing but over heating problem . And we have 5 2019 CFMOTO and they all over heat. Nothing but issues.
I bought a 2018 500 cfmoto and have find it a great ATV. I’ve had it in the sand dunes where I live and mud as well elk hunting in the mountains and 3 grandkids who ride hard. It also pull’s my 4′ x 8′ trailer with load well. My dealer does lie, I get good service too!
I have a 2022 zforce 950 ho ex. I’ve road it just like my Polaris machines. I guess I’m the exception not the rule. All of the brands have issues, Polaris explodes in fire, can-am won’t start in cold wheather, zforce transmission is jerky. Anyone and everyone Upgrades their machines (shocks, tires, clutch kits etc) risk vs reward is the honest conversation, Cfmoto is my 1st choice right now. That being said, I’m doing my due diligence, meaning watching “China” closely! Rumor is a new zforce 950 4-seater is coming? $$$$ will be my decision! “China” consider yourself on watch! Talk is cheap, let’s see how you navigate, honesty, backup, etc. Americans that are actually “true Americans” won’t be fooled by hype! Put up or shut up!!
you simply cannot trust online reviews .. they can be manipulated by anyone … the truth is on the streets…..and CFMOTO still carries the *cheap tag to this day… they last for people that hardly use them and ride around in parades lol people that have bought them and used them for work or play wished they had went a different route and wind up selling them to the next guy trying to save a couple bucks…it’s fact they are not built as well as any of the other maior brand machines … CFMOTO is another company like KYMCO
I am skeptical of both radical sides of these conversations as I have seen the quality parts on these things and the loss of quality on the polaris and canam. Yes, I’d take a polaris or canam for the aftermarket parts and resale value if they werent thousands more and the dealers were not so stuck up. Around here, it seemed noone wanted to even talk to me unless I wanted every accessory they could sell me. My 25k wasn’t enough. Just happened to be in a CFMoto dealer hours later to see if it was even worth looking at and was very iimpressed with build quality and even more so standard equipment. Yes, there are parts that leave much to be desired….take the single piston caliper brakes and too long lasting brake pads for instance. The XL needs better brake pads for mountain riding, end of story. Most things on this machine are top notch though comparing to standard name brand models though. Sometimes, the budget won’t allow 30k for a base machine with added winch and roof/windshield that should be std equipment anyway. With cfmoto I can have the quality and the budget to trick it out and enjoy it with aftermarket tires, lift, clutch, light bars, doors, and still be below the others’ prices. Do I wish it wasnt made in china? Hell yea! But guess what, a lot of the other mfg have MANY parts including engines and transmissions built in good chinese factories. Zhejiang Chunfeng Power has mfg engines and transmissions for most of the other big names at some point. Just buy what you like and meets your needs and suck it up or shut up. I personally dont care if others like my machine. It’s still badass and climbs like a bear and runs like a scalded dog for a utility machine. My buddies love their rangers (mostly) but some kick thereselves knowing I paid FAR less than they did for an equal and sometimes better machine. Yes, it is harder to find parts for it though compared to the big names. That’s the kicker. The dealer network is very important.
Unfortunately, you probably never owned one. 2023 cforce 600 touring. Girlfriend and I ride several times a week. 3 months old and 2300 miles without incident. Best thing I ever bought. Winched a Toyota Tacoma out of the sand also. Lol
I love my 500, I just turned over 21,000 miles on it with not one problem, still running the same factory battery. We use this unit in Canada running from Mt. sermon to dominate island for supply’s which is 650 miles one way. Super reliable machine
Ok I’ll tell you why it’s so cheap. It’s hard to get into and out of gear. It bucks and jumps and sounds like a train when it does move. When you put it in gear and give it gas it will jerk and take you flying in which direction your going. Heaven forbid you truck or tree isn’t in the way. Mine has been named Ole ClanknClunk. That’s what you’ll hear starting to go anywhere. Jumping and bucking so much you can make a milkshake. It’s pure and simply a piece of junk. So much so the dealer won’t take it in on trade for a real UTV. DONT EVER BUY ONE!!
Love my 600 work around the house is easier now the winch I used to move a 16×12 foot shead was no problem and joy rides around the town my wife and I have a lot of fun I’m getting the 4 seater next.
I’ve read a lot of the comments and while I can’t speak to their individual circumstances I can share mine. I bought a cfmoto 500 back in the early 2000’s. Back when they were first breaking into the american market and were just considered chinese junk. I was even warned by the dealer that sold it to me that warranty and company support were basically non-existent. But the price point was so great I had to try it out. The only issue I had with it was the battery not charging. That eventually turned out to be a bad regulator-$30. Other than that it ran great, performed great. It went places other atv’s had trouble because of the locking front diffs and actual 4wd. I rode it for many years but finally decided to get a new atv. I sold it to a friend of mine and other than wear items(brakes, cables, etc.) it is still running on the original equipment. Including the original drive belt. Imagine that-over 20 years and still going strong. And believe me I didn’t baby it nor has my friend. Just last year(2023) I decided to move into the utv market so I bought a cfmoto uforce 600 and I love it. Best bang for the buck I can find. And yes, there are some cfmoto that have issues. But I’ve pulled my fair share of bikes and utvs out of the bush. Including Polaris, Artic Cat, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki. All manufacturers have issues. And all dealers I have dealt with are in business to make money. They all lie about specs, etc.
C’mon people, quit buying this China crap… If the price is that good, you have to take that into your decision…
DO NOT UNDER ANY CURINSTANCES PURCHASE ON OF THESE. We brought a bike and side by side brand new side by side has done 200km bike 520 has done 640km both have broken down both won’t start. Have spent a lot of money on repairs get fixed same thing happens again
Sadly it has become common practice for manufacturers to stall and dodge honoring warranties. Kawasaki is currently the best at honoring warranties, and Honda is now one of the worst. My info is taken directly from several different dealers and independent service/repair centers that i patron. The complaints about CFMoto failing to honor warranties isnt surprising. Im not quite ready to try my luck with CFMoto. Nearly all my “toys” are Kawasaki, Honda, or Yamaha. I do have one KTM dirt bike and also a Chinese dirt bike. I use only non ethanol gas with frequent treatment, change the oil religiously, wash them good after every use, and keep the chain clean and greased and i have few if any problems. I also have a chinese atv, and the build quality just isnt on par with the big 4 Japanese manufacturers.
After viewing nearly all these comments from people, I decided to NOT buy a CForce anything ! I always wondered why they were so much “cheaper” than other ATV’s and the reason they’re cheaper is they are CHEAP ! Junk ! I’ve looked up close at the build. metal, components, and can SEE the poor quality. Like a guy said ” Pay a bit more for a known brand and you’ll be far better off”. 100% true.
I PURCHASED A NEW ZFORCE 800 TRAIL LAST YEAR. USED IF FOR AN ELK HUNT IN ARIZONA. NO ISSUES WHATSOEVER. THE BELT DOES LAG IN ENGAGEMENT BUT ALL BELT DRIVES DO THIS. I HAD A 2022 CAN AM COMMANDER XT 700 AND DID NOT LIKE IT AT ALL. SOLD IT TO BUY THE TRAIL 800. I JUST SOLD IT AS I DECIDED I NEED A BIGGER UTV. GOING TO PICKUP A UFORCE 1000 NEXT WEEK. MY HUNTING FRIEND HAS A POLARIS RANGER 1000 AND IS CONSTANTLY REPAIRING IT. FRONT A ARM WELD BROKE OFF. REVEALING VERY POOR WELDING TO THE FRAME. HE SAYS HE WILL NEVER BUY A POLARIS AGAIN.
Hey Tony,
We’re happy to hear you’re getting a new machine that you’ll love!
