We did something pretty sneaky a little while back. We slowly upgraded most of our lightbars to make them brighter and more power efficient.
And we did it while keeping them at the same price they were before.
It’s a big upgrade, and now our lights are better than ever. Let’s take a look at what we did.
We made two major changes to our light bars that make them way better.
That’s all fine and dandy, but what does that actually do for you?
The main thing is that the upgrade makes them way brighter, which is obviously great. That upgrade also makes them more power efficient so they don’t run any hotter or use more power even though they’re brighter.
Let’s look at just how much brighter they are.
First, you need to know what lumens are. Lumens measure how much light comes from a light source (like an LED). There are different ways to measure lumens, and raw lumens use the maximum lumen output of a specific LED multiplied by the number of LEDs in the light.
A standard car headlight is about 1,200 lumens.

Most of our light bars are twice as bright! And They have the same power draw as our old lightbars, so they won’t get hotter or put more strain on your battery (you’ve got to power all your other accessories, right?).
And we didn’t increase the price. It’s a win-win.
Like we said, we changed from Cree LEDs to OSRAM LEDs. But we’re guessing that means nothing to most of you.
So let’s start at the beginning.
LEDs use microchips to control them—Cree and OSRAM are two manufacturers that specialize in LEDs. Both produce excellent LEDs (some of our lightbars still use Cree LEDs because they’re great for those applications), but OSRAM chips have an advantage.
Without getting too specific, OSRAM chips are more efficient, and they give the LEDs attached to them a better profile. That means the LEDs can shine brighter, and the reflectors can shine more light forward, all while using the same amount of power.
In many cases, OSRAM LEDs are twice as bright as Cree. That’s pretty awesome and exactly why we made this upgrade.
