What’s up guys, Braden here with SuperATV, and today we’re going to be showing you how to install SuperATV’s 12-inch single row light bar on this Can-Am Maverick X3, so let’s get right to it.
Start by coming to the front of the machine and removing the hood by pulling it straight up. Then, locate the two 10mm bolts on your factory or upgraded SuperATV shock tower brace and remove them along with the 10mm nuts on the back side.
Grab the bracket provided in the kit, pull straight out on the shock tower brace, and slide the bracket in. Align the holes in the bracket with the holes in your brace, then install the long hex-headed hardware with flat washers through the bracket and brace. Install the Nylock nuts on the back side and fully tighten the hardware.
Grab the light bar and spacers provided in the kit. Install the spacers on the inside of the mount and slide the provided Allen hardware through the bracket, spacer, and into the light bar. Start the hardware on both sides but do not fully tighten yet.
Remove the seat by first taking out the 13mm bolts on the front seat tube and the 18mm nuts in the back. Tilt the seat to the side to remove the seat belt screw if applicable. Next, remove the trim panels by pulling them straight out.
Grab the light bar wiring harness and locate the plug that connects to the light bar. Route this plug up to the light bar, following the tunnel to the rubber grommet above the driver’s side gas pedal. Feed the wire through the grommet to the front side of the machine and connect it to the light bar. Secure the harness with zip ties.
Remove the rocker switch panel cap and disconnect the factory connector. Feed the new rocker switch connector through the notch and install the rocker switch into the factory location. Route the wire to the desired location and connect it to the light bar harness.
Locate the hot (red) and ground (black) wires with eyelets. Strip the coating back and connect new smaller eyelets to fit the bus bar. Attach the hot wire to a keyed-on power source and the ground wire to the chassis ground or bus bar. Use heat shrink connectors for a secure connection.
Secure any excess wiring to prevent it from causing interference or getting damaged. Cut the wiring to the desired length and use connectors to reattach the wires. Mount the relay with the connector facing downward to prevent water from entering.
Reassemble the machine by reinstalling the seat, trim panels, and any other components removed. Test the light bar to ensure it functions properly when the key is turned on and off.
Once you’ve reassembled everything and ensured all wires are properly secured, that’s all there is to it to install SuperATV’s 12-inch single row light bar and mount on this Can-Am Maverick X3.
