What’s up, guys? Braden here with SuperATV. Today we’re going to show you how to install SuperATV’s Full Glass Windshield on this Kawasaki KRX 1000. Let’s get right to it.
Grab your straight seal out of the kit and apply it to the lower portion of the windshield. Start on the edge here and run it all the way across to this edge, then we’ll cut off the excess. Once we get to this point here, we’ll cut off the excess.
Now we’re going to take our foam and apply it to this edge here. We’ll peel the backing off then lay it just like this. Make sure it’s fully adhered.
Once we get to this point we can cut off the excess. With this, you can cut it or you can tear it—it’s totally up to you.
On this side, do the same exact thing.
[1:48] Now we’re going to grab our clamps and our grommets from the kit. We’ll remove the inserts, or the sleeves, out of each of the grommets. We’re going to slide them in the holes, all the way around our windshield. Feed them through the hole like that, and then take the insert and slide it right back into the grommet.
We’ll continue doing this for all of the holes except for this one. This is where the wiper will go.
[2:49] Now we’ll remove our roof hardware enough so that we can get the roof out of the way to get the clamps in place. If you don’t have a roof, you don’t have to worry about this process.
Now we’ll take our windshield and place it on the machine. Try to slide it into position the best we can.
Now we’ll take our clamp, lift the glass windshield up, and push our clamp down so it’s somewhat in the right location.
Next, we’ll grab one of our Allen-head screws, flat washers, and Nylock nuts out of the kit. I’ll go to this hole and it’ll line up into the cage itself. We’re just starting our hardware—we’re not fully tightening anything just yet.
[4:06] Next, remove the upper cage mounting bolt. Grab the bracket and slide the cage mounting bolt through the bracket on the big notched side.
Then we’ll start our hardware back into the cage. We’ll just run our hardware directly through the windshield and through the bracket, just like this.
Start the hardware. Now we’ll repeat the same step on the opposite side.
[4:49] Now we’re going to grab our wiper handle. There will be a 10 mm nut—just remove that. Slide this piece off, then thread your nut back onto the handle. That way you don’t lose it.
Have the washer up against the nut, then the rubber, then we’ll slide it through this hole from the inside going out. Take our flat washer and the other nut. There we go—that’s plenty tight.
Then, grab the wiper arm. Let’s peel this little plastic piece out of here. Remove the nut from your handle and slide it through. You want to flip this arm right here, on your wiper arm, straight up so it sits like this. Slide it on just like so. Then install the 10 mm nut to secure the wiper arm.
Just make sure the handle is in the same position as the wiper. That way, when you go to wipe it, it will all be straight.
[6:34] Now let’s take a 10 mm socket and fully tighten it.
Now we just need to finish installing the hardware up top here. We’ll take our long hardware that was in the clamp. Slide it through the upper portion of the windshield. Line it up with the clamp on the inside of the machine and slide it through. Start the nut.
Now we’ll take our gasket and apply it across the top lip, the top edge, of the windshield so the roof doesn’t rattle.
Now we’re good to set our roof back down into position.
[8:05] Once you’ve fully tightened all the hardware, that’s all there is to installing SuperATV’s Glass Windshield on this Kawasaki Teryx KRX 1000. Be sure to check us out online to pick yours up today. Thanks for watching and we’ll catch you on the next one.
