What’s up, guys? Today we’re going to show you how easy it is to install Super ATV’s low-profile fender flares on this Honda Pioneer 1000. Let’s get right to it!
So, the first thing you’re going to do is start on the passenger side. Look on the inside of the factory fender, and you’ll see two push pins. We’re going to remove both of those push pins to get started.
Take your side cuts and remove the push pins. Once removed, take your passenger side fender flare and attach it using the stock push pins that you just removed.
Hold the flare up into position to ensure it aligns perfectly. Get it exactly where you want it, then drill all of your holes for the new push pins, drilling right through the flare into the plastic. Each time you drill a hole, take a push pin and install it to keep everything secure as you work.
Continue drilling the remaining holes and installing push pins to secure the fender flare. This ensures a snug fit and helps maintain the position of the flare as you work.
Next, take your Allen-headed bolt, beveled washer, flat washer, and nylock nut. Slide the Allen bolt through the beveled washer and attach it through the pre-drilled hole in the machine. On the backside, attach the flat washer and nylock nut, then fully tighten your hardware to secure the fender flare.
Now, take your right rear bracket and lift it over the plastic, ensuring it’s positioned right up against the edge of the frame. Hold it in place and use a paint marker to mark through the holes. Drill two holes in the marked locations and secure the bracket with the provided hardware.
Take the M6 10mm headed bolts and start them in the pre-drilled holes. These are self-tapping, so they should start easily. Once started, use an impact driver to run them in securely.
Lower the machine and dump the bed to access the forward most hole. Drill through the bracket into the frame at this location. This will help secure the bracket to the frame firmly.
Remove the bracket and attach the flare to it. Lay the flare on top of the bracket and ensure its oriented correctly. Use the same hardware as before: Allen-headed bolts, beveled washers, flat washers, and nylock nuts to secure the flare to the bracket.
Slide the Allen bolts through the flare and the bracket, then secure them with flat washers and nylock nuts on the backside. Fully tighten all the hardware to ensure the flare is securely attached to the bracket. This will involve a bit of flexing of the flare to align everything perfectly.
Once all hardware is tightened, install the flare onto the machine by aligning the remaining holes and securing them with the provided hardware. Starting the hardware through the flare will make it easier to attach it to the machine. Now, just repeat the same exact steps for the opposite side. Once you’ve done that, you’ve successfully installed Super ATV’s low-profile fender flares on your Honda Pioneer 1000. Be sure to check the description below for a link to pick yours up today.
