Braden here with SuperATV, today we’re installing SuperATV’s ready fit winch on a Can-Am Maverick X3. Let’s get started!

Remove Front Fascia (0:33)

First, remove the front fascia. On the passenger side, open the gas door to expose the T30 Torx screw and remove it. Use a T30 Torx and a 10mm wrench to remove the nut and bolt. Repeat for the two T30 screws under the fender and one securing the headlight. Unplug the headlight and repeat on the driver’s side. Unplug the fan wiring harness and another connector at the front. Remove the bumper if installed.

Remove the Hood and Panels (4:06)

Remove the hardware at the bottom of the bumper. Remove the hood by pulling straight up, then remove two push pins and two T30 torques. Lift up the fenders and remove the front fascia by lifting straight up.

Remove Radiator Hardware (5:14)

Remove the hardware securing the radiator to the front bulkhead, including two 10mm bolts and nuts on the bottom, and two on the top. Lift the radiator straight up to access four 18mm nuts (two on top, two on the bottom) and remove all four. Lift the radiator out of the way and remove the bulkhead.

Install Spacer Plates and Ready Fit Winch (7:28)

If you have a frame stiffener, install the spacer plates. The upper plate goes on like this, and the lower one like this. Slide the ready fit winch onto the factory arm bolt. Start the nuts on both sides but do not fully tighten yet.

Prepare Passenger Side (8:16)

If equipped with factory Can-Am harnesses, remove the harness from the lower portion. Remove the seat cushion by lifting it straight up and removing the 18mm nuts and two 13mm bolts on the front of the seat. Lift the seat straight up and feed the harnesses through the seat.

Remove Panels and Feed Wires (9:47)

Remove the side panel by pulling straight out and lifting up. Remove the front panel by pulling straight back.

Feed the wires through the middle of the machine. Continue feeding them around to the other side and through the rubber grommet. Go inside the machine to pull the wires out, ensuring they are not bound up.

Install Wires to Bus Bar and Winch Rocker Switch (11:20)

Feed the wires to the bus bar, with the black wire as ground and the red wire as keyed on. Ensure the wires are secure and in place.

Locate the desired rocker switch location and push the factory dummy plug out. Feed the winch harness through the rocker switch hole and pull the rocker switch up into place.

Connect Wires (13:41)

Feed the connector to the front where the quick mount winch is attached. Plug it into the winch solenoid connector, ensuring a secure connection.

Connect to Bus Bar (15:01)

Connect the ground wire to the top terminal, hot wire to the middle terminal, and keyed on source wire to the bottom terminal of the bus bar. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.

Reinstall Front Fascia (18:41)

Reinstall the front fascia, ensuring all clips and connections are secure. Start with the topmost fender screws and work your way down, securing the headlight and all hardware.

Reinstall Hood, Panels, and Seat (20:57)

Reinstall the hood, ensuring it is properly aligned and all hardware is tight. Reinstall the side and front panels, securing them firmly.

Reinstall the seat, feeding the harnesses back through. Secure the seat with the 18mm nuts and 13mm bolts, ensuring it is firmly in place.

Install Stop Block and Winch Hook and Pull Strap (25:22)

Install the stop block with the provided hardware, fully tightening all screws and nuts.

Install the winch hook by aligning it with the hole on the winch rope and securing it with the pin. Attach the pull strap to the winch hook.

Test Wireless Remote (26:54)

Turn on the wireless remote by holding down both buttons until the light illuminates red. Test the winch operation to ensure it works correctly. Hold both buttons again to turn off the remote.
