Welcome back, guys! Today, I’m going to show you how to install Super ATV’s rear bumper on this Polaris RZR Pro R. Let’s get right to it!
The first step is to remove the innermost lower radius arm hardware. Start by removing the nuts from both sides using the appropriate socket and wrench. Once the nuts are off, carefully remove the bolts from the radius arms. This will allow you to detach the lower section of the radius arms.
Next, grab the lower section of the bumper and line it up with the holes on the radius arm plate or the rear receiver hitch (if you have one installed). Insert the new hardware provided in your kit through the aligned holes and start threading the nuts. Ensure the bumper is aligned properly before fully tightening the nuts. This step is crucial as it forms the foundation for the bumper’s stability.
Now that the lower section of the bumper is secured, we need to remove the T50 hardware from the rear exhaust cover. Carefully unscrew the bolts and keep an eye on the factory spacers. These spacers help maintain the proper alignment of the exhaust cover. If they don’t stay in place during removal, set them aside carefully for reinstallation later.
With the lower section in place, it’s time to install the upper portion of the bumper. Align the upper bumper with the factory holes on the vehicle. Using the provided 10mm bolts (with a 15mm head), thread them into the designated holes. Make sure the bolts are properly started but do not fully tighten them yet. This step ensures that the upper bumper is correctly positioned before securing it completely.
Next, take the clamps from your kit. Each clamp has a threaded side and a non-threaded side. The threaded side should face towards the machine for proper alignment. Lift the upper portion of the bumper and rotate it to align the clamp. Slide the non-threaded side of the clamp over the bumper tube and secure it with the screws provided.
Ensure that all four screws are started before moving to the opposite side. It’s important to maintain consistent orientation for the clamps on both sides for a clean and professional look. This step ensures the bumper is securely fastened to the vehicle’s frame, providing added stability and protection.
Fully tighten the clamps using an X pattern to ensure even pressure distribution. Start by tightening one screw until it has some resistance, then move diagonally to the next one. Repeat this pattern for all screws on both sides. This method ensures that the clamps are evenly tightened, preventing any misalignment or instability.
Go through and fully tighten all the remaining hardware. Double-check each bolt and nut to ensure they are securely fastened. This step is crucial for the overall stability and safety of the bumper installation. Properly tightened hardware ensures that the bumper will withstand the rigors of off-road driving and provide maximum protection.
Finally, grab the caps and the last bit of hardware, which are the Allen bolts. Thread the Allen bolts into the ends of the bumper tubes and fully tighten them. Ensure that the “superatv.com” logo on the caps is facing up on both sides for a polished and professional look. These end caps not only enhance the appearance of the bumper but also provide additional protection to the bumper ends.
