What’s up guys Braden here with Super ATV and today we’re going to be showing you how to install Super ATV’s rear windshield for this Honda Pioneer 1006. So let’s get right to it.
The first thing you’re going to do is take your windshield, lay it up on your machine to confirm that it fits. Once you’ve done that, remove the protective film from both sides of the upper and lower portions of the windshield. This step ensures that the windshield fits properly and that you have a clear view through it once installed.
Make sure that you have your windshields oriented correctly. The upper portion has two bent tabs, and the lower portion will slide up to the upper. Line up the mounting holes on the lower with the slotted mounting holes on the upper. Proper orientation is crucial for ensuring a snug fit and optimal functionality of the windshield.
Grab a couple of M6 Allens and start coupling the windshield together by attaching the middle first to keep everything lined up. Then, attach the brackets on the outer edges to couple the lower and upper windshield. Starting from the middle helps in maintaining alignment, making the rest of the installation smoother.
Slide the brackets into position to couple the lower to the upper portion of the windshield. Start by attaching the bracket to the lower portion, then flex the windshield into position to couple it with the upper portion. Ensure that the brackets are correctly aligned and secure them with the appropriate hardware.
Go through and fully tighten all the hardware. Start on one side and work your way around, bringing the windshield together as you tighten. It’s important not to over-tighten as this can cause the sealing washers to blow out, potentially leading to leaks. Tighten until the washers just begin to flatten.
Install the bulb seal to the windshield, starting on the lower portion and running it all the way around. Cut off the excess once you reach the other side. The bulb seal ensures a snug fit and helps prevent any rattling or air leaks.
Grab the angled brackets, orient them correctly, and apply the gasket to the top of the bend down to the edge of the bracket. Attach the lower portion of the windshield, ensuring the textured black side faces out. The gasket helps create a seal between the bracket and the windshield, ensuring stability and reducing vibration.
Align the lower portion with the holes on the windshield and attach it using the same hardware. Ensure the brackets are correctly installed. This step is crucial for ensuring that the lower part of the windshield is securely fastened and aligns properly with the upper part.
Loosen the roof if necessary and position the clamps on the rear cage. Squeeze them into position. Clamps help hold the windshield securely in place, preventing it from shifting or rattling during use.
Slide the lower portion of the windshield into the bed and align the clamps. Having an extra pair of hands can be very helpful during this step to ensure proper alignment and ease of installation.
Remove the factory Allen headed screws from the seat bolster and attach the bracket using the factory hardware. Secure the rear windshield to the bracket using M6 Allens. This ensures that the windshield is firmly anchored to the machine’s frame.
Install the last two brackets, ensuring they make contact with the center tube of the cage. Fully tighten all hardware. These final brackets add additional stability to the windshield, ensuring it remains secure during operation.
Grab the strap, route it through the lower portion of the windshield and around the cage. Crank it down tight and repeat on the opposite side. Straps provide additional security, helping to keep the windshield firmly in place.
Go through and fully tighten all your hardware. Once done, that’s all there is to install Super ATV’s rear windshield on this Honda Pioneer 1006.
