If you’re tired of dealing with dust swirling around the cab of your Polaris RZR Pro R 4, SuperATV has the perfect solution. In this video, we will show you how to install our rear tinted windshield, which is designed to reduce glare and eliminate the dust swirl that often occurs when running a front windshield without a rear panel.
Braden Adams introduces the product from his garage and explains what makes this rear windshield a valuable upgrade. The windshield is tinted to reduce glare from the sun shining into the machine from behind. More importantly, it helps eliminate dust swirl by balancing airflow through the cab. Braden also gives a quick overview of the tools required for the installation.
Begin by removing all components from the SuperATV kit. Place the windshield on the vehicle to confirm that it fits properly. Once fitment is confirmed, remove the protective film from both sides of the polycarbonate windshield to prepare for installation.
Identify the three bracket types included in the kit: one short, one medium, and one long. Start with the short bracket, which attaches to the section of the windshield closest to the raised edge. Use the M6 Allen screws and M6 Nylock nuts provided in the kit. Insert the bolts from the bottom of the windshield and install the nuts on the inside. Make sure the sealing washers make direct contact with the polycarbonate surface to prevent leaks or rattling. Repeat this process for the long and medium brackets, attaching each one in its proper location.
Next, install the side panel onto the windshield. The panel is designed to only fit one way. Make sure the raised lip on the side panel lines up with the area where you previously attached the short bracket. Use the same M6 hardware to attach the side panel to the brackets. Once all the bolts and nuts are in place, fully tighten this section. Repeat the process on the opposite side of the windshield to complete the full panel assembly.
Now install the top section of the bulb seal to create a tight and vibration-free fit. Begin by ensuring the bulb portion of the seal faces outward, away from the inside of the machine. Starting in the center, work your way around the top edge of the windshield. You can press the seal in by hand or use a rubber mallet or air hammer for assistance. Be careful not to damage the seal or the windshield. Once you reach the opposite side, trim the excess seal using a razor blade or side cutters.
Repeat the same process for the bottom of the windshield. Starting at one corner, run the seal across the entire bottom edge, making sure the bulb side faces outward. Trim any excess once you reach the end, ensuring a clean and snug fit.
Move to the back of the machine and remove the two factory-installed T40 Torx bolts from the center of the bed. Keep this hardware, as you will reuse it. Grab the center mounting bracket included in the kit and orient it so the bend faces the rear of the machine. Reinstall the factory bolts through the bracket into the factory mounting holes. Do not fully tighten the bracket yet, as you may need to make slight adjustments during final alignment.
If your Polaris RZR Pro R 4 has a roof, you will need to loosen the rear hardware to allow room for strap installation. Remove the two screws from the back of the roof and hold onto the spacers inside. You will reuse these later when securing the roof again.
Carefully lift the assembled rear windshield and angle it forward over the headrests and down onto the mounting bracket. Ensure the bottom bulb seal faces inward toward the cab and that the rest of the seal is making consistent contact with the roll cage. Begin securing the windshield by installing the side straps. While pulling the strap tight, press inward on the windshield to create a snug fit. Then, move to the roof. Lift it slightly, slide the strap through the gap, loop it back through itself, and pull it tight. Repeat these steps on the opposite side.
With the windshield in place and the straps fastened, install the final two bolts through the designated holes. From the inside of the cab, thread the provided nuts onto each bolt. You may need a second person to help hold the nuts in place while you tighten the bolts from the outside.
Now go through and fully tighten all the hardware. Check the brackets, straps, and nuts to ensure everything is secure. That wraps up the installation of SuperATV’s rear tinted windshield on the Polaris RZR Pro R 4. Be sure to check the video description below to order your windshield today.
