What’s up guys Braden here with SuperATV and today we’re going to be showing you how to install SuperATV’s sport accessory bar on this Can-Am Defender so let’s get right to it.

Starting on the Driver’s Side (0:33)

Begin by grabbing the driver’s side portion of the accessory bar. Line it up with the cutouts in the bed at the rear and the specified positions. In the hardware kit, you will find bolts, nuts, and washers. Start by dropping a bolt down through the designated hole, reach under to place the washer, and then thread the nut onto the bolt. Repeat this process for each attachment point on the driver’s side. This ensures the bar is securely attached to the bed of the vehicle.

Repeat the same exact steps on the passenger side. Align the accessory bar with the cutouts, drop the bolts through, add the washers, and thread the nuts. Ensure both sides are securely fastened to the vehicle’s bed, providing a solid foundation for the cross tube.

Threading in the Studs (2:13)

Next, thread the stud into the tube on both sides. Start the threading process by hand to ensure it goes in straight, then use a 22-millimeter wrench to fully tighten it. Make sure the stud is firmly secured, as this will be crucial for the stability of the cross tube. Repeat this process for the other side, ensuring both studs are properly tightened.

Threading Studs into Cross Tube (2:59)

After threading the studs into the side tubes, move on to the cross tube. Thread the studs into the cross tube, ensuring they are securely fastened. This step is critical for maintaining the structural integrity of the accessory bar, ensuring it can support any additional accessories you may attach later.

Installing the Clamps (3:29)

Grab the clamps from the kit and remove the hardware to separate them. Attach the cross tube to the bracket by starting the screws down into the clamp. Make sure the screws are aligned correctly before tightening them. Once all screws are in place, snug them down to secure the cross tube. Repeat this process on the opposite side, ensuring the clamps are properly aligned and secured.

Aligning and Tightening Brackets (4:39)

Align the brackets so they line up with the edge of the bed. This step ensures that the accessory bar is correctly positioned and stable. Once aligned, fully tighten all the hardware. This secures the accessory bar in place, making it ready for any additional components or accessories.

Modular Mounting System Overview (5:24)

The sport accessory bar features a full modular mounting system, allowing for easy attachment of additional accessories. This system is designed for versatility, enabling you to customize your Can-Am Defender with various attachments and tools.

Installing the Rack on the Sport Accessory Bar (5:33)

To install the rack on the sport accessory bar, have someone help you hold it in place while you get the hardware started. This ensures the rack is properly aligned and prevents it from falling. Start by inserting four or five bolts to hold the rack in position. This step is easier with an extra pair of hands and ensures that the rack is securely attached to the accessory bar.

Installing the Center Portion of the Rack (6:12)

Take the center portion of the rack, align the slotted end with the outside portion, and start attaching it. Ensure the alignment is correct before tightening the hardware. Move to the other side and get the hardware started there as well. Proper alignment and secure attachment are crucial for the stability and functionality of the rack.

Securing the Center Hardware (7:18)

Once the rack is oriented correctly, install the rest of the hardware on the outside of the accessory bar, securing it to the shelf. Ensure all bolts are in place and tighten them appropriately. This step finalizes the attachment of the rack, ensuring it is securely fastened to the accessory bar.

In the center of the shelf, where it lines up with the outer portion, install a bolt down through the shelf. On the bottom side, use a flat washer and a Nylock nut. Repeat this process with four bolts per side, ensuring the shelf is securely attached to the accessory bar. This provides additional support and stability to the shelf.

Final Steps (8:20)

Go through and fully tighten all the hardware to ensure everything is secure. Double-check each bolt and nut to make sure they are properly tightened, ensuring the stability and safety of the accessory bar and attached components. Once all hardware is fully tightened, the installation of SuperATV’s sport accessory bar and shelf on the Can-Am Defender is complete. Check the description below to pick yours up today.
