Welcome, guys! Today, we’re going to show you how to install Super ATV’s fender armor panels on this Polaris RZR Pro R. This upgrade will add extra protection and style to your vehicle. Let’s get started and make your ride even more robust and stylish!
First, grab a pair of side cuts and locate the two rivets on the machine. These rivets are located at the front and back of the fender panel. To remove them, use the side cuts to grab the tabs on the rivet and twist to cut off the back side. This allows you to knock the rivets through with a punch.
If you encounter difficulty pushing the rivets through, you might not have cut the tabs off completely. Ensure you trim the tabs thoroughly to create a good surface for the punch to hit. If you’re still having trouble, try using a flathead screwdriver from the inside of the machine to slide it in between the two panels and twist. This action will pop the rivet loose, allowing you to remove it easily. Repeat this process for both rivets to prepare the area for the new fender armor panels.
Now that the rivets are removed, the next step is to remove the T-40 screws. These screws are located at strategic points on the fender. Use a T-40 Torx tool to remove the screws, ensuring you keep them safe as you’ll need to reattach components later. Removing these screws allows the fender to be free for the installation of the armor panels.
Take your fender armor panel and align it with the holes where you removed the T-40 screws. For the two main holes, use the long Allen-headed hardware provided in the kit. Insert the long Allen through the hole and align it with the factory threaded hole. Begin threading it by hand to secure the panel in place. This will hold the panel up while you work on securing it further.
Repeat this process for the lower hole, ensuring both the upper and lower sections of the panel are aligned and slightly tightened. This preliminary tightening helps hold the panel in position while you secure it fully.
Next, grab two of the short Allens and washers provided in your kit. These will go through the holes where the rivets were previously located. Because the fit might be tight, you may need to thread them through manually at first. Once you have inserted the hardware, take the nylock nuts and begin threading them onto the bolts.
Using a 10mm wrench and a socket for the Allen head, go ahead and fully tighten these nuts. This step ensures that the fender armor is securely attached to the vehicle, providing robust protection against debris and other potential damage.
Now it’s time to fully tighten the rest of the hardware. Ensure that each bolt and nut is securely fastened to prevent any movement of the armor panels. This step is crucial for the longevity and effectiveness of the fender armor, ensuring that it stays in place during your rides, no matter how rough the terrain gets.
With one side complete, move on to the opposite side of the vehicle. Repeat all the steps: remove the rivets and T-40 screws, align the fender armor panel, secure it with the provided hardware, and fully tighten everything. Ensuring both sides are installed properly will provide balanced protection and a uniform look to your Polaris RZR Pro R.
