What’s up, everybody? Braden here with Super ATV. Today, I’m going to be showing you how to install Super ATV’s front brush guard on this Can-Am Defender. So, let’s get right to it!

Preparation [0:36]

Gather the necessary components for the installation: the lower portion of the bumper, two M8 black nitr-coated bolts, two M8 Nylock nuts, and two flat washers. Organize these parts to ensure you have everything you need before starting the installation process.

Installing the Lower Bumper [0:49]

Begin by inserting the hardware through the holes in the bumper. Align the bolts with the factory holes on the front of the machine. Slide the bolts through the holes and secure them with a washer and Nylock nut on the backside. Hold the bumper in place as you tighten the nuts by hand, ensuring the bumper is positioned correctly. Repeat these steps for the opposite side but do not fully tighten the bolts yet. This will allow for adjustments later.

Removing the Grill [1:43]

Remove the grill to access the mounting points behind it. Grab the center of the grill and pull it straight out. The grill is secured with tabs on the top and bottom, so it should come off with a firm pull. Set the grill aside safely for reinstallation later.

Attaching the Bumper to the Frame [1:57]

Align the bumper’s threaded bung with the factory holes on the machine. Insert the long M8 hardware through the holes and thread it onto the bumper. Ensure the lock washer is installed before threading the bolts. You may need to wiggle the bumper slightly to get the threads to catch properly. Repeat these steps on the other side, ensuring the bolts are properly started but not fully tightened.

Clamping the Bumper [3:32]

Secure the bumper to the frame with the provided clamps. Grab the clamp and align it with the tube on the bumper. Slide the clamp into place and start threading the nut onto the bolt. This step might be easier with an extra set of hands, but it can be done solo with some patience. Ensure the clamp is positioned for easy access to the hardware for tightening.

Securing the Clamps [4:00]

Once the clamps are in place, use an Allen socket (4mm) to begin tightening. Tighten the lower clamps first to hold the bumper in place. Move to the upper clamps, ensuring they are snug but not fully tightened. Adjust the bumper as needed to ensure a proper fit before fully tightening the clamps.

Tightening the Hardware [5:16]

Begin tightening the bolts behind the bumper using a 10mm socket. Start with the bolts that were threaded into the frame earlier. Ensure all hardware is tightened evenly to secure the bumper firmly to the machine. Double-check all bolts to confirm they are fully tightened, and the bumper is secure.

Installing the Tube Caps [7:35]

Install the finishing touches by adding the tube caps. Thread the tube caps into the ends of the bumper. Use the provided hardware to secure them in place. Ensure the tube caps are fully tightened for a finished look.

Conclusion

After fully tightening all the hardware, that’s all there is to it to install Super ATV’s front brush guard on the Can-Am Defender. This brush guard not only adds protection but also gives your machine a rugged, stylish look. Be sure to check the description below to pick yours up today. The m8 1.25 x 25 bolts are too long for the hd8 dps. You guys are supplying the wrong hardware.
