What’s up guys, Braden here with Super ATV, and today I’m going to be showing you how to install Super ATV’s glass windshield on this K&M Maverick X3. The installation process is identical for both two-seaters and four-seaters, so let’s go ahead and get rolling.
Installing The Vents: The first thing we’re going to do is grab our vents and install them on our windshield. Ensure they open and close correctly. Use the thumb screws to secure them in place. Repeat this process for both sides.
Applying Foam Seal: Next, grab your foam seal and apply it along the edge of the windshield. Start from one side and run it to the other. You can either tear or cut it to size. Repeat the same steps on the opposite side.
Applying Bulb Seal: Now, we’re going to grab our bulb seal. Make sure the bulb portion is facing the inside of the windshield. Start at one edge and run it all the way to the opposite side. Do the same for the upper portion of the windshield.
Preparing Clamps: Next, disassemble all four clamps. Remove the steel sleeve from the rubber grommet. Apply some lubrication like WD40 to the rubber and slide it into the windshield. Wipe off excess lubrication. Reinsert the steel sleeve and bolt. Assemble the clamp by bending it open and securing it with a nut. Repeat this process for all four clamps.
Installing the Wiper Handle: Disassemble the wiper handle completely. Slide a flat washer and rubber washer onto the handle, then insert it into the frame. Add another rubber washer and flat washer on the inside and secure it with a nut. Attach the wiper arm, ensuring it’s straight, and tighten the 10 mm nut securely.
Installing the Wiper Blade: Attach the wiper blade assembly to the wiper arm. Ensure it clicks into place and remove the protective cover. Flip the wiper down onto the windshield.
Positioning and Securing the Windshield: With the roof slid back or removed, wrap the tube clamps around the cage tubes. It’s recommended to have help for this step as the windshield is heavy. Secure the clamps by wrapping them around the tubes and tightening the nuts. Go around and fully tighten all hardware using a Phillips screwdriver and a 10 mm wrench.
Adjusting Wiper Assembly: Finally, adjust the two nuts for the windshield wiper to fit your roof setup. Ensure it’s adjusted properly for clearance with the roof.
