What’s up guys, Braden here with SuperATV. Today, we’re going to be showing you how to install SuperATV’s rear flip windshield on this Polaris Expedition ADV, so let’s get right to it.

Installing the Bulb Seal [0:36]

Apply the Bulb Seal: First, take the bulb seal and install it with the bulb portion facing towards the inside. Line it up between the two lower holes that don’t have any hardware. Use an air hammer, dead blow, or install it by hand to make the process easier. Be careful not to damage the seal or the windshield. This step is crucial to ensure a proper seal and fit.

Cut and Seam the Bulb Seal: Once the bulb seal is in place, cut it off flush to ensure it lines up correctly. Use a pair of side cuts or a razor blade for a precise cut. The interlocking metal pieces inside the bulb seal keep it tight. Seam the bulb seal together to create a tight, continuous seal. This ensures that the windshield will be weatherproof and secure.

Installing the Handle [2:18]

Attach the Handle: Grab the handle and two long Allens from the kit, along with two Nylock nuts. Slide the hardware into the handle and align it with the two holes on the lower portion of the windshield. The shiny border indicates the outer portion. Start the nuts on the bottom and fully tighten them using a 5 mm Allen and a 10 mm wrench. This step ensures the handle is securely attached and functional for operating the windshield.

Installing the Hinges [3:11]

Attach the Hinges: Install the hinges on the outer portion of the windshield. Ensure the opening of the hinge faces towards the outside. The hinge with the bend that lays over the seal indicates the right side. Use the M6 button head hardware and Nylock nuts to secure the hinges. Make sure the hinges are as straight as possible when tightening. Properly installed hinges are essential for the smooth operation of the flip windshield.

Mounting the Windshield [5:18]

Position the Windshield: Lay the windshield on the machine, positioning the brackets underneath the roof. Ensure the notches on the brackets face down and line up with the factory threaded screw holes on the cage. Start the hardware but do not fully tighten it yet to allow for adjustments. This step aligns the windshield properly with the vehicle frame, ensuring stability and correct fitment.

Securing the Windshield [6:16]

Adjust and Tighten: Make sure the windshield is equal side to side by checking the gaps. If necessary, loosen the screws in the hinge bracket to square it up. Once aligned, fully tighten the bolts. This ensures that the windshield is securely attached and correctly aligned with the vehicle structure.

Installing the Struts [7:21]

Attach the Struts: Lift the windshield and run the provided nuts up the struts. Attach the bracket and threaded clip to the frame. Align the windshield and secure the strut nuts using a 10 mm socket. Repeat the process for the opposite side. Use an impact and wrench to tighten the hardware quickly. These struts support the windshield, allowing it to stay open securely and close smoothly.

Final Adjustments [9:14]

Final Adjustments: Ensure the windshield is properly aligned and tightened. Check that the windshield latches correctly and make any final adjustments. Make sure all hardware is fully tightened. Proper alignment and secure fastening are critical for the windshield’s performance and safety. Once all adjustments are made and the hardware is tightened, the installation is complete. The windshield should open and close smoothly, allowing the tailgate to be used without interference.
