We recently had Dan Worley from SDi visit us at SuperATV. But this wasn’t just a social call. He came here to get work done.
More specifically, he wanted to get his hands on the new CFMOTO UForce U10 Pro and revalve his top-of-the-line Terrain Master 2.1 Shocks to get unbeatable suspension performance.
We’ve been working closely with him, and we’re more than a little excited to be able to offer these awesome SDi shocks for the U10 Pro.
While he was here, we chatted with him about working together, what the Terrain Master 2.1 shocks can do for your U10 Pro, and how to get the most out of them.
What follows is a transcript from that conversation, slightly edited. Enjoy.
Q: What brings you out to SuperATV? What are you working on with the UForce U10 Pro
A: Well, it’s great to be back because we really needed this hospitality—the test track and facility—because we can’t get a UForce U10 Pro in California yet. They’re supposed to be soon, but they’re rolling so many of these things out right now. So we just wanted to get ahead of it.
There are a lot of big projects with you guys planned on this because it’s been such a hot unit.
And the first thing was shocks. So we have our Terrain Master 2.1 shocks, and we want to see what we could do with this. As usual, these machines do come with cheap emulsion shocks. This is actually a pretty comfortable driving stock machine. I’d say it’s one of the better platforms out there for comfort, for sure.
But once again, the whole point of this shock is: if you want to push it, go a little faster, be able to hit stuff harder, and make your cruising around the farm machine into something you want to hit trails with and have fun, that’s what these things are for.
So we’re real close. We’re revalving one more set in the front of the UForce, and we should be good to go. I’m pretty happy.

Q: For someone upgrading from stock, what’s the big difference with your shocks, and how does the adjustment system work?
A: The big thing with these is that they’re obviously not electronic—you’re not getting that active technology that helps with body roll.
For these, what we’re trying to do is just raise the bar. We do have a low-speed compression adjuster, and the way we explain it is:
So you still have that adjustment, but you don’t get the fancy control.
You’re getting out, and you’re adjusting the shocks.

Q: Where do the Terrain Master 2.1 Shocks fit into your lineup? Who’s the ideal rider for these shocks?
A: It is at half the price level of what an eClick is (SDi’s intelligent active suspension shocks). And really, it is a utility for people. We made these for your average guy. There was such a demand, and we knew we could get the U10 Pro to work better, and just by putting a decent shock underneath it, it helps so much.
But thank you for having us out. The facility, as always, and everything is so top-notch here. We’re always amazed every time we come back. We couldn’t have done this without you guys and all the projects for the future. A lot of cool things are coming ahead.
Q: So when you’re tuning these and planning future parts around them, what does that process look like on your end?
A: It’s definitely different. I think a lot of tuners make it more complicated than it needs to be. We try to keep stuff simple and find a really nice balance for everybody on this.
It’s been great having you out testing because we always need second opinions. Getting some of the other engineers and guys involved is great. It’s cool to bring this over to you so everybody can seize the development cycle from this end.
We’re trying now to match it to long-travel kits, to portals, to big tires—all these things. It works a lot better when it’s all done together. We know where you plan on mounting things. So as more accessories get developed for this model, everything just flows nicely together.

After days of tweaking and testing, Dan and SDi have these shocks dialed in perfectly for the UForce U10 Pro.
