Why Tennessee Remains an Ideal Off-Road Destination

Are you one of the 126 million people that visit Tennessee yearly? People flock to Tennessee to see the hundreds of attractions that it has to offer—Dollywood, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Grand Ole Opry, to name a few.

Yes, these attractions are iconic and full of history. But we know there is so much more to Tennessee.

Honorable Mentions for Expert Riders

Technical Ridge and Rock Features (AOP/Windrock Sectors)

If you really want to test your rig, head for the tougher sections inside Adventure Off Road Park and Windrock Park. These trails feature steep ledges, chunky rock gardens, and tight switchbacks that demand patience and smart line choice. They’re a blast—but definitely not beginner territory.

Before you drop into the rocks, make sure you’re running beadlock wheels upgraded axles, and full skid plate protection. A dependable winch with synthetic rope should be part of your standard setup, not an afterthought. Shop SuperATV for all of these must-have upgrades.

Long Ridge Connectors (North Cumberland)

The long ridge runs throughout the North Cumberland WMA system are all about miles and views. You’ll cover serious ground, but you’ll also be farther from staging areas and help if something goes wrong. So, if you’re a beginner, this probably isn’t for you.

Treat these like true backcountry rides You’ll want to mount a GPS with offline maps, bring radios for your buddies, and keep a spare belt in your cargo box. A little preparation goes a long way out here and SuperATV has you covered with all of it.

Get Trail-Ready with the Right Gear

Tennessee terrain will test your traction, protection, and preparation. Here are some serious upgrades to consider:

  • Tires: Go with all-terrain or rock-specific compounds so you’re ready for whatever the trail throws at you.
  • Protection: A full skid plate, bumpers, and more will help protect your rig when things get rocky.
  • Winch: Bring a winch with synthetic rope so you’re prepared if you (or a buddy) get stuck.
  • Visibility: A windshield and roof make a big difference. Light bars and whips are great additions too—especially for night rides.
  • Navigation: A solid GPS that mounts and has offline maps will keep you on track even when you lose signal.

Shop SuperATV to help build a rig that’s ready for everything the Tennessee trail has to offer.

It would be great if you added a map showing all the locations. That way I can see exactly where they are relative to where I am as I travel in Tennessee. Thanks so much

Are there any locations that don’t cost money to ride. I came from the west where riding only cost gas and lunch.

Coming into Nashville April 17th with four guys (bachelor trip) have a U10 Segway 6 seater that hopefully we can bring out on some of your trails. If fishing near, that would be an added perk. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
