Polycarbonate roofs let in lots of light and come in tinted versions to help keep damage from the sun’s rays to a minimum. Prices will vary based on your needs and the model of your UTV, but a roof is definitely something you don’t want to go without if you plan on doing any serious riding.

You can always count on that one limb or boulder to hit the weak spot in your stock skid. In our opinion, your machine costs way too much to risk damaging your undercarriage. If you ride in any conditions where your machine comes into contact with gravel, rocks, or sticks (so pretty much anywhere), you need to invest in a quality skid plate.
We recommend a quality material such as ARMW polyethylene which is a proprietary blend of UHMW. And a good skid plate should be at least ½” thick. You can purchase metal skid plates, but for most riders, these are unnecessary and add additional weight.

Why invest in an aftermarket bumper? Because some machines don’t come stock with them—and if yours does, it probably won’t hold up to the abuse you’re putting it through.

I would like to suggest an additional option for UTV riders that may vastly improve the riding experience for all of those who enjoy UTVs. Most, if not all UTVs come standard from the manufacturer with 4 point harnesses, which are , to many users, cumbersome and often uncomfortable as well as varying in reliability for protection even if worn as designed. My husband and I have enjoyed riding for over 12 years with friends. Last year, he was in a near fatal rollover while riding alone, wearing the 4 point harness. He suffered massive injuries and nearly lost his life and is still having multiple revision surgeries to reconstruct his left arm, which was nearly amputated during this accident. Upon researching, I have found that there are available options that would be more effective, especially for an individual of his height and for others. A Click-6 harness, despite the initial cost, would potentially promote more riders both wearing the harness as well as providing more stability and support during rollovers and other accidents that could and do occur frequently. A 5 point harness would also be more optimal than the standard 4 point harness, but it may not be as comfortable for the rider and, therefore, may not be suitable for everyone. We and our rider group spent significant amounts of money on upgrades and never considered this a priority, until now. I am suggesting that this be provided as options for upgrades in addition to other useful items. I am hoping that retailers of UTVs will also offer these options to customers as part of the purchase package.
